Many of these >1000 MSMEs into defence manufacturing have also expanded their capabilities to cater to Aerospace and Space sectors and are today integrated with global supply chains. Hyderabad is also a hub for aerospace materials with MIDHANI and several composite manufacturers supporting the industry. Government of Telangana has created world class infrastructure and multiple dedicated Aerospace parks in and around Hyderabad to cater to the industry. AdibatlaAerospaceSEZ is amongst the first Aerospace SEZs in the country, which hosts the mega factories of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, GE and TASL. GMR Aerospace park is another SEZ hosting the factories of SAFRAN and training centers of Pratt and Whitney, CFM, FSTC etc. Nadergul Aerospacepark, Hardware park 1 and Hard ware park 2 are the DTA parks catering to the sector. The new electronics park E- city which spreads over 912 acres is hosting a large number of defence electronics, avionics and space related companies. TSIIC has created a 123 acre Composite park where 60 composite manufacturers have taken space and are commencing production. The government is considering creating a new Aerospace park and a larger defence park to cater to the increasing demand from industry. The growth in Aerospace and Defence sector has brought in large scale investments and significant high-value employment creation for the State.

DRONES are grabbing attention nowadays due to their huge potential. Will you be setting up separate Drone Hubs and parks as well? What are your plans for supporting Drone startups? Telangana is one of the first States to come up with its own drone policy. It has provisions to support design, manufacture, test, train and promote applications of drones in various sectors including agriculture, logistics, mining, traffic management, law and order, medical supplies etc. Multiple drone start ups are participating in various pilot programmes supported by the State Government. State promoted incubator T Hub and hardware incubator T-Works are supporting several drone start-ups prototype their drones and pilot applications. Several Telangana based flight training organisations (FTOs) have secured formal approvals from Ministry of Civil Aviation to commence drone training in the State. The State also has plans to create a drone testing and certification corridor and Centre of Excellence in drones to support the ecosystem.
