A university fit for purpose, built on solid foundations - rock, not sand.

Past weeks have brought triumph and pride. The Complete University Guide revealed we are number one in Wales for student satisfaction, and our overall position improved by five places. We were also ranked first in the UK for student satisfaction in Nursing, and Agriculture and Forestry.

Architecture, Sports Science and Computer Science all scored highly, with the latter jumping an incredible 29 places up the table – the largest increase in the UK – to show we really are “world-leading” in that department.

This all came just days after we were ranked number one in Wales and seventh in the UK in the proposed Social Mobility Graduate Index, for getting students from poorer backgrounds into jobs.

That result is a tribute to our widening participation team, reinforcing our desire to be ‘open to all’ and giving students a level playing field on which to achieve their goals. Mayor of Wrexham, Council David Bithell, enjoys the Oculus Rift technology
