Alternate Week Recycling Collection Important Changes to your Recycling Pick Up Schedule & Procedure Effective January 1, 2019, cardboard and paper products will NOT be picked up the same week as bottles, cans and plastic #1- #6. Pick up will be on alternating weeks: Cardboard and paper will be picked up one week along with waste. Bottles, cans and plastic #1- #6 will be picked up the next week along with waste. This change will improve efficiency, reduce costs, use less fuel and reduce carbon emissions.

How do I prepare cardboard & paper for pick up? Choose any or a combination of the following options: 1. *Preferred: Place items directly in your existing recycling bin or an old garbage pail. Do not bag or bundle. Clearly mark 2 the pail with the decal enclosed and use this pail only for cardboard and paper. 2. Create a bundle: Tie newspaper and other materials into bundles with cord or twine, no higher than 10 inches high and 36 inches long or put in a paper bag. 3. Put shipping, appliance, gift boxes directly out for collection– 3 No need to break them down.
