2021 Funeral Provider Price Comparison Report – Southern AZ

This Funeral Consumers Alliance of Arizona 2021 Funeral Provider Price Comparison Report for Southern Arizona was compiled by gathering General Price Lists (GPL) from a list of funeral providers supplied by the Arizona State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers. Unless otherwise stated, the establishments listed are not affiliated in any way with the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Arizona, Inc. (FCAAZ). The project began in early 2020 and was completed in late February 2021. Our goal is to help the consumer make as fair a price comparison as possible when looking at minimum “out the door” prices for Direct Cremation, Direct Burial and an economical Full Funeral. We based our figures on each provider’s most recent GPL. When we had questions, we contacted the funeral home for help and clarification and our final worksheet was sent to each funeral home for verification.

For comparison purposes, here is a chart of what was included in the cost of each final arrangement:

Important Notes for the Consumer Direct Cremation and Direct Burial does not include fees for a service or ceremony, cost of flowers, clergy fees, obituary notices, cost of burial plot, niche vault, etc. Full Funeral does not include extra days of visitation, opening/closing of the grave, grave liner/vault or marker/headstone; burial clothing, clergy fees, viewing, flowers, police escort services. There are additional county and state fees and taxes. Like any other business, a funeral establishment may change its prices at any time and so the actual prices you pay for services and merchandise at any of these funeral homes may vary. According to the FTC Funeral Rule, the prices or price range for all merchandise and services offered are to be listed on the General Price List. Don’t assume that anything not on the GPL is included. You can ask for, and will receive, a GPL from any funeral provider in Arizona. This Price Comparison Report is a starting point to help you make funeral arrangements that are consistent with your values and beliefs and within your budget. We do not guarantee that the actual price you would pay at any funeral provider is exactly as what is listed here because, as already noted, conditions and prices can change at any time. Funeral providers sometimes give pricing information on their websites. We have found the funeral providers, directors and staffs to be knowledgeable, compassionate and respectful. Funeral providers understand that final arrangements are not only expensive but can be very emotionally difficult for the consumer to discuss. They are trained to help you, so do not hesitate to bring them any questions. We are delighted to have FCAAZ Preferred Providers: these are funeral providers who offer FCAAZ members special considerations and discounted prices on their services. Other funeral homes may match our member prices. You may always ask. At the time of publication, we have two FCAAZ Preferred Providers in Southern Arizona.
