BOARD OFFICERS Youth Development Program Fees To continue to provide sailing opportunities in Boston Harbor for youth in East Boston Brett Van Gelder and the surrounding communities, Piers Park Sailing Center (PPSC) will be introducing a Chair needs-based fee structure to offset the real costs per student in the summer program. It currently costs PPSC $500 per student per week to operate the summer youth John Peter Dunn Vice Chairman development program. Michael Hansen PPSC will also charge a nominal and needs-based $25 registration fee to discourage ‘no- Treasurer shows’. Fee Structure: - $25 per child non-refundable registration fee o Families that are enrolled in free or reduced school lunch, WIC, TANF/TAFDC, or HCVP are exempt from the fee - $100 per summer sailing session fee o Families that reside in East Boston are exempt from the fee o Families that are enrolled in free or reduced school lunch, WIC, TANF/TAFDC, or HCVP are exempt from the fee Fee exemptions are supported by the generous donations of local businesses and grant makers. We remain committed to providing sailing programs to youth from East Boston and surrounding communities, regardless of ability to pay. We do not want this change in fee structure to be a barrier for any new or returning student. We are committed to work with every family to ensure that your children will be able to attend the summer program. The registration process for PPSC summer youth programs is ‘need-blind’. This means that admission, in no respect, is based on ability to pay. This fee structure will ensure that we can continue to provide a meaningful learning experience for youth age 6-18 in a safe fleet of adaptive boats, capable of serving students of all levels of physical ability. Located on the waterfront in East Boston, Massachusetts, the Piers Park Sailing Center is a community sailing center dedicated to providing affordable recreational, educational and personal growth opportunities for people of all ages and abilities in Boston Harbor. .
