Listings of orange color, are new items in the 2018/2019 list. Acacia cognata 3€/20seeds. A small tree with an interesting weeping form and a light canopy that is very playful with the sun above. Acacia greggii 3€/20seeds. Small deciduous tree with small leaves that gets covered with yellow flowers in late spring. Acacia karoo 4€/20seeds. Slow in the beginning but as soon as it anchors itself onto the ground it creates an umbrella like tree with sweet scented late spring flowers and most importantly 10cm white spines that will protect it from giraffes (if you have them!) and are very ornamental nevertheless. Acacia mearnsii 4€/20seeds. A nice medium sized tree with ferny foliage and pic panicles of soft lemon flowerheads in late spring. Don’t plant in areas where there is a danger of becoming invasive. Aechmea recurvata ´Big Mama´ 3€/20seeds. One of the best (and biggest) recurvata selections that colors up in pinks and oranges when in flower and then goes back to green when in fruit. Aethionema grandiflorum 3€/20seeds. Tough and long lived Aethionema that takes summer drought excellent. Gets covered in pink in spring. Alyssoides utriculata 3.30€/20seeds. Perfectly suited to screes and rocky soils on a big rock garden or equally at home at a Mediterranean drought tolerant border with good air circulation, this useful shrublet has both vibrant yellow flowers and peculiar round seedpods in short stems above the leaves. -

It grows on stony slopes of Ermenek town, Karaman province, in southern Turkey. It is com- pared with the closely related species H. myrtifolium. H. ermenekense is distinguished from the morpho- logically similar H myrtifolium chiefly by sepal shape, petal size, capsule size, presence of capsule hair and appendage form. On the other hand, the seed coat and pollen grains surface of H. ermenekense and H. myrtifolium are demonstrated in SEM photographs. In addition to the detailed description, the illus- tration, distribution map, conservation status and ecology of the new species are also provided. 1 Preface Love of flower is a noble trait peculiar to man. Flower brings fragrance, emotion and beauty to people. That is why they love it, and hope to live beautifully and pure-heartedly like it. At the same time, they express their wish and desire, happiness and hope by means of it, and want to bring their life into full bloom, picturing themselves in it. Kimilsungia, which was named by Sukarno, the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, reflecting the desire of the progressive people of the world, is loved by mankind not only because it is beautiful but also it is symbolic of the greatness of President Kim Il Sung. The editorial board issues Encyclopedia of Kimilsungia in reflection of the unanimous will of the Korean people and the world’s progressive people who are desirous to bloom Kimilsungia more beautifully and propagate it more widely on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung. The book introduces in detail how Kimilsungia came into being in the world, its propagation, Kimilsungia festivals and exhibitions held in Korea and foreign countries every year, events held on the occasion of the anniversary of the naming of the flower, and its biological features and cultivating techniques the Korean botanists and growers have studied and perfected. And edited in the book are the typical literary works depicting Kimilsungia and some of gift plants presented to President Kim Il Sung by foreign countries. In addition, common knowledge of flower is compiled. The editorial board hopes this book will be a help to the flower lovers and people of other countries of the world who are eager to know and grow Kimilsungia. -

Woody Plant Species Used in Urban Forestry in West Africa: Case Study in Lomé, Capital Town of Togo

Full Length Research Paper Woody plant species used in urban forestry in West Africa: Case study in Lomé, capital town of Togo Radji Raoufou*, Kokou Kouami and Akpagana Koffi Laboratory of Plant Biology and Ecology, BP 1515 Lomé - Togo. Accepted 13 July, 2019 Many studies have been conducted on the flora of Togo. However, none of them is devoted to the ornamental flora horticulture. This survey aims to establish an inventory of the woody plant species in urban forests of Lomé, the capital town of Togo. It covers the trees planted along the avenues, in the gardens, courtyards, shady trees and trees used as fences for houses or trees at the seaside. In total, 297 plant species belong to 141 genera and 48 families were recorded. They are dominated by 79% of dicotyledonous, 13% of monocotyledonous and 8% of gymnosperms. Families that are best represented in terms of species are those of the Euphorbiaceae, Arecaceae and Acanthaceae. Alien species represent 69% and African species represent 31% out of which 6% are from Togo. According to the current threatening of the natural habitat by human activities, African native plant species could be more useful for ornamental purposes than exotic plants. Current trend shows use of some cardiac glycosides in the treatment of proliferative diseases, which includes cancer. Nerium oleander L. is an important Chinese folk medicine having well proven cardio protective and cytotoxic effect. Oleandrin (a toxic cardiac glycoside of N. oleander L.) inhibits the activity of nuclear factor kappa‑light‑chain‑enhancer of activated B chain (NF‑κB) in various cultured cell lines (U937, CaOV3, human epithelial cells and T cells) as well as it induces programmed cell death in PC3 cell line culture. The mechanism of action includes improved cellular export of fibroblast growth factor‑2, induction of apoptosis through Fas gene expression in tumor cells, formation of superoxide radicals that cause tumor cell injury through mitochondrial disruption, inhibition of interleukin‑8 that mediates tumorigenesis and induction of tumor cell autophagy. The present review focuses the applicability of oleandrin in cancer treatment and concerned future perspective in the area. Teşhis edilen 714 taksondan 7 takson Pteridophyta divisiosu, 707 takson Magnoliophyta divisiosu içinde yer almaktadır. Plant Res. 22(6) : 558~570 (2009) Review Vascular Plant Diversity of Jeju Island, Korea Kim Chan-Soo* Warm-Temperate Forest Research Center, Korea Forest Research Institute, Seogwipo 697-050, Korea Abstract - The vascular plants in Jeju composed of 21 families 62 genera, 190 species, 7 varieties with 197 taxa in Pteridophyta, 3 families 5 genera, 7 species, 3 forma with 10 taxa in gymnosperm (Coniferophyta) and 143 families 703 genera, 1,622 species, 114 varieties and 47 forma with 1,783 taxa in Endospermae. The total number of taxa was 1,990 consisting 167 families, 770 genera, 1,818 species, 121 varieties and 50 forma. Three families, 4 genera 4 species and 1 variety in Pteridophyta and 1 family, 1 genus I species, 1 forma of Coniferophyta were endemic to Jeju. Five families, 8 genera and 8 species in the Monocotyledonae of Endospermae and 23 families, 32 genera, 21 species, 16 varieties and 7 forma and 44 taxa in Cholipetalae, and 9 families, 24 genera, 12 species, 13 varieties and 7 forma, total 32 taxa in Sympetalae were endemic to Jeju. Total 90 taxa with 41 families, 69 genera, 46 species, 29 varieties and 15 forma were drawn up as endemic plants in Jeju. As the numbers show on, Jeju has more biodiversity especially plant diversity than any other places in Korea. It was an important region in regard to geographical position. The rarity on plants from Jeju has been assessed based on the IUCN red list categories and criteria at both regional and global levels. There was one species in each extinct (EX) and extinct in the Wild (EW).
