Soon, he realises that he will have to pay a heavy price for choosing that route to amke his film. Performance: Flop Remarks: A Shyam Gopal Varma Film is one project which goes off board completely because of its below par execution. This is not a film which you would want to start your new year with. You can safely ignore the film this weekend and look for something better.

Film: Raghuvaran B.Tech (Tamil Dubbed film) Genre: Youth/Family, Dir: R. Velraj , Release Date: 1.1.2015 Banner/Producer: Sri Sravanthi Movies / Sravanthi Ravi Kishore Star Cast: , , Saranya Ponvannan, Samidrakani, Surabhi, Synopsis: Dhanush plays Raghuvaran, who after years of unemployment, gets his dream job but a powerful rival is keen to put him down. The rest of the story is about how he takes on his adversary and what he gains in the process. The film is the dubbed version ofa Tamil film titled Velaiillla Pattadhari. Performance: Flop Remarks: First half of the film is nice with youth elements and Dhanush’s characterization. Second half has different orientation. Plus points of the film are first half, Dhanush characterization and dialogues. On the flip side, second half might disappoint the viewers who expect it to have the same fun as first half. would have loved to see a Telugu hero do such kind of film. On a whole, Raghuvaran BTech is a decent movie and you may watch it!

On the whole, Raghuvaran B.Tech is an interesting tale of a jobless youth with an underlying message. Even though the second half is a bit predictable and routine, Dhanush’s thumping performance and a entertaining first half makes up for a decent watch this new year.

Raghuvaran B Tech is a winner from Dhanush point of view. He was thoroughly entertaining us in first half with loads of funny moments which are easily to strike a chord with Graduate unemployed. Film stands on big merit when seen from first half. Velraj kept the narration mild and dodgy in second half with boredom added in few portions. Never to mention, there was more of Tamil Paithyam added during interval block and rest of second half. Here and there, Rajini style was also inculcated to Dhanush. Gauging the show in overall, Raghuvaran B Tech is formula film with decent entertaining stuff. It has every masala to attract all the sections of audience. Problem is, it’s a dubbed version and you cannot connect with Telugu nativity. Commercially, this could end as a safe product for sure.

Film: Mana Kurralle Genre: Drama, Dir: Veera Sanker , Release Date: 1.1.2015 Banner/Producer: Veera Sankaer SIlver Screens / BVS Srinivasu, H S Haroon Star Cast: Arvind Krishna, Venkat ,Rachana Malhotra, Roopa Kaur, , and others Synopsis: Mana Kurralle is a socio-drama which narrates the story og a group of youngsters, who go back to their village to bring about a change at the grassroot level. The film also stars Rao Ramesh and Venkat in importent roles. Performance: Flop Remarks: A film that certainly would have passed muster had it released years ago. Portraying the same ideology in a nuanced and imaginative manner might have got it many audience.

Living up to its title Mana Kurralle, it's a coming-of-age movie set against rural background. The story focuses on the challenges faced by the youngsters and it has shown a nice transition from the year 2007 till date. While the first half primarily runs with elements of romance, some comedy and action, the second half is more on a serious and emotional note but with good doses of entertainment. Besides this, the movie offers a sensible message. Most importantly, the film has not deviated from the formula of a commercial entertainer and it has been blended in the right proportion.

Given the time it took in its making, some of the hiccups are obvious but the makers have done their best in justifying the gap. Also, the presence of multiple characters tends to drift your attention on and off but the connection of dots was well executed in the second half. One can also realize why the film landed up in some controversy owing to certain scenes which remind you of some real life people and incidents. Overall, this is a film that will not hit you like a thunderbolt but it does leave a positive impression.

As the film is being postponed several times, very few people are informed about the release. Despite directing a vigorous subject which has the power to connect with socially enlightened Telugu viewers, Veera Shankar failed in executing the same to perfection. Individual episodes shot in establishing each of the main characters were faintly dealt. When they are combined together to fight for a cause, then came some solidarity. Touching lot many subplots, he could not do justice for either. More cumbersome was to tolerance the sub standard performances and disturbance creating songs. All in all, ‘Mana Kurralle’ is a poorly executed film with substantial message. Problem lied in hitting the right note at right time. As a writer, Veera Shankar work is noticeable and as a director, he is dejected and miserable. Commercially, there are no hopes.

Film: Gopala Gopala Genre: Satirical Drama, Dir: Kishore Kumar Pardasany , Release Date: 10.12.2014 Banner/Producer: Suresh Productions, North Star Entertainments Pvt. Ltd / D. Suresh Babu, Sharat Marar Star Cast: Venkatesh, , Shriya, Posani, Vennela Kishore, Mithun Chakraborthy and others Synopsis: Gopal Rao (Venkatesh), a middle-class man who runs a store selling God's idols, is an atheist whose life turns topsy-turvy when an earthquake destroys his store. Soon, he shocks everyone by filing a lawsuit against God (Pawan kalyan) to get the compensation from an insurance firm. Performance: Above Average Remarks: The film is a remake of Paresh Rawal, starrer Oh My God and the Telugu version largely stays true to the original version. Kishore Kumar Pardasani, the director, does well in handling the emotional depth of the film without going overboard or offending anyone's faith. Yes, the film does feel a tad too long, but it has enough moments which stay with you long after you finish watching it. And more importantly, it makes you think about life and reminding what our place in the cosmos is.

Film: 'I' Genre: Sci-Fi thriller , Dir: Shankar , Release Date: 10.12.2014 Banner/Producer: Aascar Films Limited / V. Ravichandran , D. Ramesh Babu Star Cast: Vikram, , Upen Patel, Santhanam, Synopsis: A bodybuilder ends up falling madly in love with a supermodel, but some scheming villains maim him. Is he able to overcome his physical handicap and win back his love? Performance: Average Remarks: Suspend your disbelief and get into this fairy tale that is told by Shankar (the maker of magnum opuses like Indian, Sivaji-The Boss and ) on a grandiose canvas. Shot mesmerisingly by PC Sreeram on virgin locales in China and , with world class CG work, this spectacle works because at the core, it's a romantic-thriller told simplistically. While the waif-like Amy looks mesmerising, Vikram bowls you over with a heart-wrenching performance whether he is handsome or disfigured. Santhanam provides the perfect comic relief. The first fight in a local gymnasium and the BMX bike fight on Chinese rooftops are an adrenaline fix. This is pure escapist fare but will resonate with those who read fairy tales at bedtime.

Film: Pataas Genre: Action Comedy / Dir: Ravipudi , Release Date: 23.1.2015 Banner/Producer: N.T.R Arts / Nandamuri Kalyan Ram Star Cast: Kalyanram, Shruti Sodhi, Ashutosh Rana, Saikumar , and others Synopsis: Kalyan, a dashing but corrupt cop, joins hands with a rogue politician much to the chagrin of the DGP. When all seems to be going wrong, a heart-breaking incident changes Kalyan's perspective on his duty as a police officer. Performance: Hit Remarks: The film does falter a bit towards the end where it fizzles out while trying to wrap up the proceedings and the romantic track between the lead pair feels underwritten; however, there's so much which the film gets right. It's been a while since a mass entertainer has been this good. Although Pataas isn't the first action drama about a cop, it has all the right ingredients which would appease the masses. It's a 'vindhu bhojanam' in the truest sense.

Film: Beeruva Genre: Comedy / Dir: Kanmani , Release Date: 23.1.2015 Banner/Producer: Usha Kiran Movies, Anandi Art Creations / Ramoji Rao Star Cast: Sandep Kishan, Surabhi, Naresh, Saptagiri, Ajay, Mukesh Rushi and others Synopsis: The movie opens with a lady buying a fully-furnished flat. And lo and behold, when she opens the ‘beeruva’, out falls Sanju (Sandeep Kishan). So, Sanju explains how he ended up being in the almirah. So the story goes that Sanju falls in love with Vijayawada-based Adikesava’s (Mukesh Rishi) daughter Swati (Surabhi). When his father (Naresh) has a problem, he tells him to go to Adikesava. As expected, he solves their problem, but Sanju comes back with Swathi. And so the chase begins. Now, to the big questions. How did he land in ‘beeruva’? Will he win back his love? Performance: Above Average Remarks: Beeruva is quite an entertainer, largely because of a well-scripted characterization for Sundeep Kishan's role. However, the scenes where Sanju taps on his father's head while they drive to Adikeshavulu's are not in good taste. Surbhi is good in her role but she could have worked better in the scene where she gets to drink bang during Holi. All in all, Sundeep Kishan and Saptagiri, who's got a fun role in the movie, make the film a treat to watch. There are surprises galore in the movie and it may just spoil the fun for you, if those are mentioned here.

Film: Ladies and Gentlemen Genre: Drama / Dir: PB Manjunath , Release Date: 30.1.2015 Banner/Producer: PL Creations, Shirdi Sai Combines / Madhura Sreedhar Reddy, MVK Reddy Star Cast: Mahat Raghavendra, Jasmin Bhasin, Kamal Kamaraju, Nikitha Narayan, Adivi Sesh, Chaitanya Krishna, Swathi Deekshiith Synopsis: The film focuses on the dark side of relationships, and how, in real life, people are not really who they claim to be on social networking sites. Ladies And Gentlemen’ tells three separate stories involving seven characters, between them. They are not networked to each other; instead, what is common to them is a social networking site determining their future. Performance: Flop Remarks: The film tells the story of the three couples using social media in a wrong way and landing in trouble. A film called Login, directed by Sanjeevi Reddy, was released a couple of years ago on the same theme. Director Manjunath may have taken the idea from the Hindi film, but he made some changes in the Telugu version. Credit has been given to Sanjeev Reddy for the story.

Film: Pandhem Kolluu (Tamil Dubbing film) Genre: Drama / Dir: Vetrimaaran , Release Date: 30.1.2015 Banner/Producer: Sun Picture / Kathiresan Star Cast: Dhanush, Kishore, Taapsee Pannu, V.I.S.Jayapalan, and others Synopsis: The story of the film is based on the annual cock fights that takes place between Pothu Raju (Jay Palan) and Ram Swami (Naren) in the Palnadu area. As time passes by, Lingam falls in love with Irin(Taapsee) and also develops a huge misunderstanding with Pothu Raju during one of the cock fights.Rest of the story is about how Lingam makes his way to the top, and also clears the misunderstanding with his boss. This movie turns round with the rearing roosters, maintaining them and using them for fights are a way of life and a matter of honor and lifeline to many people. Jayabalan has an impeccable track record of successes when it comes to fowl fights especially with the cop’s. In a critical situation, Jayabalan challenges cop to a fowl contest ( hen fights), in this Dhanush violating his mentor’s word but emerging successfully. This results in jealous in the minds of his friends. Every got angry on Dhanush, nteresting and unexpected path with twists and turns highlighting on the way the multiple layers of human emotions with sense playing truant. The makers are expecting that this movie will also be a success at the Tollywood box office. Performance: Flop Remarks: On the whole, Pandem Kollu will be a decent outing for Dhanush in Tollywood. His amazing performance and an entertaining love track in the first half will be liked by the masses. However, a slow and dragged out second half and too much Tamil nativity might limit the reach of the film. Non Tollywood kind of Movie

Audience can understand the entire plot at the beginning of the story.
