Women are featured as a commodity, only to satisfy male urge and their bodies are featured in a way as if they are meant for male consumption. In an environment where a plethora of movies are releasing every year, putting a peppy item song in a movie, is a good trick to gain the attention of viewers . Brazen lyrics are used to enhance the popularity of these songs. Many established film makers in the industry are using this trick to gain huge financial returns. They are attracting and engaging audiences by using as well as abusing female body in their films. The paper makes an attempt to analyze the item songs by employing semiotic method to examine the use and abuse of female body in Hindi films. The single most important thread running through all the pages of the year was the way in which we have broken the stony walls of social isolation and embraced our fellow citizens – doubly marginalised by homelessness and mental illness. For too long, have we looked away from this bundle of rags and dirt. For too long have we been afraid of her unpredictable behaviour. But it has taken this embrace to touch the pain in her and the human in me. The discovery of the deepest reservoirs of strength and ‘capacity’ of persons whom the world had held with increasing despair and the way in which we have succeeded in bringing delight to the care process have been ‘magical moments’ we have cherished over the year. The media and creative industries have been facing a new challenge in the past decade such as, but not limited to, the implementation of new digital media technologies in their digital promotional strategies. This research looks into the promotional activities in contemporary Bollywood that are visible to the consumer. The research question: “How does Bollywood use social media for promotional activities to reach the domestic and global market and possibly strengthen their current promotional strategies?” will be answered through two in-depth case studies on Bollywood blockbuster movie ‘Happy New Year’ and a movie that did exceptionally well ‘Queen’. This research firstly touches upon the changes and the development the industry went through, followed by creating an understanding of the industry’s contemporary position. The first step of the analysis is based on creating an in-depth understanding of the cases and the corresponding data from among others Facebook and Twitter. The following step of the analysis is solely focussed on the adjoining film music industry, in which the attention is paid to the promotion of the film music and also the promotion through the official social media channels of the cases. -

Note: IFLI is a three-way joint venture of IDBI Bank, Belgium’s Ageas and Federal Bank.On purchasing the stake, Ageas Insurance International NV will hold 49% stake in IFLI earlier from 26%. While IDBI Bank’s stake in IFLI will be reduced to 25% from 48%.Federal Bank continues to hold 26 per cent stake in IFLI. 2. The RoDTEP scheme has replaced the popular Merchandise Exports from India Scheme from January 1, 2021. Note: As per the finance ministry the benefit of Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme will be extended to all export goods from January 1, 2021.Under the scheme, the embedded central, state and local duties or taxes will get refunded and credited in an exporter’s ledger account with customs. 3. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has imposed a fine of rupees Rs 25 crore on Indian company Reliance Industries Ltd. for carrying out manipulative trade. Note: Two more entities, Navi Mumbai SEZ Pvt Ltd and Mumbai SEZ Ltd have been fined Rs 20 crore and Rs 10 crore, respectively. However, Hong Kong Chinese people‟s knowledge of the local Indian community is limited. The stereotyping of Indian culture in the Hong Kong movie Himalaya Singh shows that Indian people and culture are often distorted and negatively portrayed in the media, and the secluded Indian community in Hong Kong is marginalised and neglected in the mainstream media. In recent years, Indian cinema has gained popularity in Hong Kong, but this survey of the Chinese movie titles, trailer subtitles and other publicity materials of four Indian movies (Slumdog Millionaire; 3 Idiots; English, Vinglish; and The Lunchbox) show that the films have to be recast and transfigured during interlingual and intersemiotic transfers so that it can become more accessible to Hong Kong Chinese audiences. 1.
