Hadley Barrett: Sept. 18 1929 - March 2, 2017 The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association lost a legend Rodeo Houston gets started tonight March 2. I threw my sucker in the dirt more than once when the criti- cism got the better of me. But because I love my horses, my sport, and my lifestyle I picked my sucker up and rinsed it off. I learned to appreciate and accept the compliments and take the rest in stride. Maybe it’s called “growing up”. Here’s to hoping that the golden moments that we share along with our accolades are stored forever in cyberspace along with the flub ups. Just remember that a picture is worth a thousand words but it will never be able to encompass the whole story. Laugh at and criticize yourself but when it comes to judging others choose your words carefully or it may not be you who has the last laugh.
