Deep Valley Chamber Music to present ‘Wind, Waves and War’ The Daily Journal “Wind, Waves, and War,” a concert of Italian love songs for two baritone voices, accompanied by lute and archlute, will be presented as a special event of the new Deep Valley Chamber Music Series on Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Grace Hudson Museum on Main Street in Ukiah, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This rarely heard but extremely compelling music was writ- ten by Claudio Monteverdi, the greatest of the madrigal com- posers, and by Barbara Strozzi, one of the earliest female com- posers to achieve fame.
