About 25 years ago, a group of people from the Temple joined together to help congregants and their families, to help them at a most difficult time.

Our group assisted by staying with patients while their families "take a break," shop for them, give books to children to cope with a family member going through a terminal illness, and many other needs.

We are still here and still working!!

Should you have such a need, please call. We will answer any questions you may have.

We are here to help.

Please contact Pam Haas at 484-802-1186 or Amy Berkowitz at 610-353-8077.

From Steve’s PowerPoint presentation, we learned that modern-day Jews have captured the history of the Jewish people fairly well from the Holocaust and onward, but we’re beginning to forget the Jewish culture that preceded the Holocaust. According to Steve, the best way to fill our gaps in history is with the stories of our ancestors.

As an aside, Steve explained that Ashkenazic Jews were the most insular people in the world. That explains why we have the highest incidence of genetic disease. If we can learn more about our Jewish histories, we will learn more about our high rates of birth defects, Crohn’s Disease, Bracha 1 markers, and more.

ETTA NATALIE ROSENBLATT PRESCHOOL Finally, although still a “season away,” registration for next Fall has also begun. Remember we now offer classes from Toddler through Kindergarten. We have flexible days and hours and always provide a safe, fun and engaging experience for our students.

So as you can see, we are busy with all our many current activities and working hard toward opening camp and preparing for the next school year, 2013- 2014. If you have any questions or would like to enroll your children in one or more of our wonderful programs, please feel free to contact me at 610-886- 2065 or email me at [email protected]. Spring has arrived and with it lots of sunshine, flowers and wonderful events in our Preschool. See you soon! Following the completion of Passover, we immediately turned our attention to Yom HaAtzmaut ~ Miss Liz celebrating the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Liz Sussman, Early Childhood State of Israel. Yom HaAtzmaut in our Preschool Education Director was fabulous. Everything was decked out in blue and white including the children who wore blue and white, too. We took a flight to Israel, carried our passports, waved our flags in a parade and toured Israel. We went on a dig, to Tel Aviv, the Kotel in Jerusalem, collected sea shells on a Mediterranean beach and ate Israeli food. The students also learned to sing a number of Israeli songs in Hebrew!

At the end of April we celebrated Lag B’Omer. Lag B’Omer is the 33rd day after Passover and is a very popular holiday in Israel and at our Preschool. We had a great field day and a mock bonfire where we “cooked" smores. The kids loved all the different Lag B’Omer field games and relays. BIMAH BASKETS
