In his tenth World Championship finale in a row, the defending rallycross World Champion missed yet another podium finish by 0.4 seconds. In the overall standings, the Swede still holds second behind compatriot Johan Kristoffersson. In the teams’ classification EKS is third at the half-way stage of the season. Ekström made a flying start around the rollercoaster track in Norway. Despite torrential rain, the Swede coped the best with the slippery track at the wheel of his Audi S1 EKS RX quattro, and led the overall classification after the first day. “I was a little surprised that we were so fast in the wet, but that was quattro weather,” joked Ekström after the final. “In the dry conditions on Sunday, we struggled again to match the pace of the competition. In the final we lost crucial ground right at the start. This was our own mistake and this ultimately cost us the podium finish.” Although Ekström leaves Norway without a trophy, he still scored 23 important points for the overall standings. After six of twelve rounds, the World Champion is eight points behind the leading VW driver Johan Kristoffersson.

Audi MediaInfo Motorsport Communications Virginia Brusch Phone: +49 841 89-41753 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -mediacenter.com/en Audi driver Ekström on podium after pouring rain • FIA World Rallycross Champion Mattias Ekström finishes third in Lohéac • Audi DTM driver Nico Müller celebrates impressive rallycross debut Lohéac/Neuburg, September 3, 2017 – Mattias Ekström is back on the road to success in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. At the ninth round in Lohéac, the reigning World Champion finished third – the first podium result since his victory in Hockenheim last May. In front of 75,000 spectators, the Swede was only beaten in the final by his countryman Johan Kristoffersson and the French local matador Sébastien Loeb. In the overall standings, Ekström is third behind Kristoffersson and his team mate Petter Solberg – also like EKS in the team classification. Following heavy rain, the final race in Brittany became a mud festival featuring many overtaking moves. “Saturday sun and Sunday rather more swimming and sliding, a varied weekend,” confirmed Ekström. “I’m actually quite satisfied with my third place, but I’m a little annoyed because we weren’t so far from the front. In the dry and in the rain we were just missing a tiny bit, but we can certainly build on the performance.” In Lohéac, Ekström’s team mates Reinis Nitišs and Toomas Heikkinen once again made the semi- final races for the twelve fastest drivers, but drew the short straw at this stage. “After contact with Andreas Bakkerud my wipers stopped working, from there on I was running blind,” summarized Nitišs and added: “I’m disappointed with the result because it doesn’t show our real performance.” Heikkinen missed the final after a collision with Ken Block.

  • Hard Helg I Hell for Andreas Bakkerud

  • Dubbla Finalplatser I Rallycross-VM För Volkswagen Team Sweden – Rustad Överlägsen I EM
I Marklund Motorsport missade båda VM-förarna semifinal. I VM lyckades Volkswagen Team Sweden bäst. I semifinalerna fortsatte framgångarna. I finalen delade VW-förarna andra startled.

  • Volvo Symbol
Volvo symbol When the decision was taken to start producing Volvo cars in August , financial backer Svenska Kullagerfabriken — SKF — reactivated a company that had been idle since for the purpose. The name of that company was VOLVO and it had been formed in for the manufacture and marketing of bearings for the automotive industry. Not only was the name ingeniously simple, it was also easy to pronounce in most places around the world and with a minimal risk of spelling errors. And best of it all was its immensely strong symbolic connection to the company's entire operations. In its first person singular form, the verb "volvere" becomes "volvo", i. Its Latin form gives rise to several derivations of the word that in one way or another, and in many languages too, describe a rotating movement, for instance, revolver. Everything that rolls When operations started, they were described as follows: "Ball bearings, roller bearings, machines, transmissions, automobiles, bicycles, rolling-stock, transportation devices, means of transport of all kinds and parts of and accessories for the aforementioned products". All those things were not realised but quite a few Volvo automobiles and other transportation devices have been produced over the years. Some other products that also carried the Volvo brand name are such oddities as producer-gas burners, camping trailers and office chairs. Ancient logotype At the same time as VOLVO was reactivated, the ancient chemical symbol for iron, a circle with an arrow pointing diagonally upwards to the right, was adopted as a logotype. This is one of the oldest and most common ideograms in Western culture and originally stood for the planet Mars in the Roman Empire.

  • News Release 20.09.15 Petter's Best in Barcelona Norwegian Superstar
News release 20.09.15 Petter’s best in Barcelona Norwegian superstar Petter Solberg celebrated victory at the maiden World RX of Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya today (Sunday). Petter’s no stranger to winning, but it’s been a pretty lean summer in terms of time on the top step for the two-time FIA World Champion. Which is why he was so pleased to land a first victory since World RX of Great Britain at Lydden Hill in May. That and the fact he didn’t let his son Oliver down… Solberg, who is 35 points clear at the top of the World RX table with three rounds remaining this season, said: “We have fought hard for this win the whole weekend. We’ve run a lot of different set-ups on the car – we had to really work at it to catch Peugeot. All the time, the 208 was taking tenths of seconds, but eventually the brilliant PSRX engineers worked it out. “My son won a crosskart race in Sweden today; I got the message by telephone and he was joking and being quite confident and cocky in telling me I couldn’t let the family down – I actually really felt the pressure from that! “In the end, I could call him back and be quite cocky back with him. I liked that! “Everything was going quite well from the start, but in the third heat, I touched the wall on the left side – there was loads of dust in the car and I really couldn’t see so well.

  • PSRX Volkswagen Sweden Vill Lämna Lydden I Topp
