Additionally, private and shared rooftop decks CEO Pizzarotti LLC boast unobstructed views of Downtown Manhattan. Summer Intern Program The Pizzarotti team is pleased to welcome James Fiscella, Lewis Wade and Andrew Shin to the 2018 Summer Intern Program. Internships are 12 weeks in duration and cover office and field engineering as well as preconstruction and estimating on a variety of residential or hospitality projects. Our interns are typically full-time students with junior or senior status pursuing degrees in construction management, engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering or related fields. Through the program, they learn by shadowing project or department supervisors performing routine daily administrative and project related activities. James joins our Ritz-Carlton project while Lewis works on the 14th Street development and Andrew joins the 45 Broad crew. Interns in our program are responsible for coordination of project activities as directed, whether in office or on-site. They perform estimating or accounting activities as requested with assistance in addition to researching information, assisting in written communication, attending project meetings and performing other duties as assigned. We are proud to welcome our 2018 Summer Intern team and we hope they have great, educational experiences with our company! Welcome to the Team! Pizzarotti is proud to welcome several new professionals to its growing New York crew. On the Amsterdam Houses, Michael Butta has joined as a Field Accountant, Francesco Mirabelli has joined as an Assistant Project Manager, Kelly Besik has joined as a Superintendent and Juan Molina has joined as a Project Engineer. For Anbau, Sahil Khandelwal has joined as an Assistant Project Manager while Betty Eng has joined as a Senior Project Accountant. On our 75 1st Avenue project, Michael Wewiora has filled the role of Vice President and Project Executive. Evelyn Betances is our new Field Accountant for 161 Maiden Lane, and we now have In-House Legal Counselors Ryan Heeth and Gila Mandelcorn as well as Senior Buyer Riccardo Cervi in our Main Office. Thanks to all our new coworkers for joining team Pizzarotti. We’re thrilled to have you aboard! Employee Spotlights We are proud to recognize our exceptional employees, and recently, we took the time to highlight a few of our talented coworkers. You can find these “employee spotlights” on our website, however recent recognitions include: April – Miguel Aleman We first met Miguel in 2013 when he was working for a labor company we hired on one of our first NYC jobs. His stand-out work ethic caught our management team’s attention, and we knew he would be a great recruit. Sure enough, he was. Miguel excelled and took on more responsibility with Pizzarotti, rising to the role of general labor foreman. Currently, he is working on our new hotel project in the South Street Seaport at 151 Maiden Lane. The construction area is tight, so the site presents logistical challenges to the construction process. That’s why during Miguel’s busy workdays he is, “the eyes and ears that keep operations running smoothly.” He coordinates with all the different trades daily in addition to performing his regular tasks. May – Veronica Superville A team player who does everything she can to help our company succeed, Veronica Superville started with Pizzarotti in 2015 as an assistant project manager before quickly advancing to her current role as project controls manager. She diligently attends to ad hoc activities arising from the field staff, helping employees with questions and issues with the company’s Information System. Her other routine responsibilities include approving commitments and change orders in Procore, maintaining the system directory, reviewing requisitions and payment applications and coordinating with the field teams to ensure project’s deliverables are being achieved. Veronica is a great leader, and during the transition from our old project management software to Procore, she served as a frontrunner in its implementation, setting the standard for its correct usage and ensuring everyone understands the program. June – Francesco Cavarretta Assistant Project Manager Francesco Cavarretta leads with a strong curiosity and a solid educational background. Francesco joined us in 2016 after applying for the “Young Talent Recruitment Program” of Impresa Pizzarotti while he was working for another company in Milan, which is also where he was born. The opportunity to travel with an international career and to contribute to the development of important projects around the world appealed to his adventurous nature. Currently, he works on two of our projects in downtown Manhattan, 1 Seaport/161 Maiden Lane and the Marriott by AC Hotel/151 Maiden Lane. In his current role with Pizzarotti, Francesco works closely with the Executive Vice President covering every possible aspect of construction management. Although there is no typical day, Francesco’s time is usually divided between assisting the EVP in appointments and negotiation meetings, addressing specific issues that require the EVP’s attention as they arise and following up with them, and helping the project team with requests from clients and subcontractors. An aspect of the job that Francesco particularly enjoys is the gratification that comes when you see satisfaction on the faces of clients and colleagues at the end of a meeting or negotiation, especially after an originally difficult situation is resolved. While Francesco is proud to be recognized in the Employee Spotlight, he believes his proudest moment is yet to come: when in-progress projects are successfully completed as the result of a collective effort. With his positive attitude, Francesco looks forward to new leadership opportunities and having full responsibility for a project one day. He is an exceptional individual who closely evaluates processes and the context in which he operates to suggest improvements when possible and achieve the best results. We are grateful to have Francesco on the Pizzarotti team! 2018 National OSHA Fall Prevention & Construction Stand Down Pizzarotti was proud to participate in Safety Week 2018 and the 2018 National OSHA Fall Prevention in Construction Stand Down, which was held the week of May 7th. Each of our job sites came together to conduct a Stand Down, bringing attention and awareness to the leading cause of death in construction. We want to thank all our employees, subcontractors, and clients for making this year’s Stand Down a success. We also extend a special thanks to Pat Monahan from Guardian Fall Protection and Gil Rehfeld from Colony for collaborating with us on several of our Stand Downs. Commercial Observer 2nd Annual Transportation & Infrastructure Construction Forum On June 6th, Pizzarotti was an exhibitor at the Commercial Observer’s 2nd Annual Transportation & Infrastructure Construction Forum. Pizzarotti Group’s large-scale infrastructure experience in the public and private sectors includes highways, railways, airports, bridges, hospitals, motorways, power plants and museums; from the Philippines to Peru, and from Switzerland to Saudi Arabia. 646.975.9100 | [email protected] .
