Berlin-Mitte Social Welfare Office

Information on accommodation If you do not yet live in your own flat, the Social Welfare Office will check whether you can stay in your current accommodation. Where this is not possible, the Social Welfare Office will endeavour to find suitable accommodation for you. It is often the case that even we are only able to offer you emergency accommodation. This is usually of a very basic standard. Although it can be difficult, we therefore kindly ask that you try to find your own flat independently. Thank you for your understanding in this matter!

Assistance in searching for a flat We would like to help you find a flat. That is why we are working together with the association EJF. If you wish, the EJF shall provide you with advice in your native language regarding how you can find a flat in Berlin.

There are also a great number of volunteers who wish to help you find a flat, furnish it and answer any questions you may have about your new home. The volunteers have been reviewed by the District Office and prepared for this task.
