Ohjelmiston aikajana ulottui Beethovenin, Mahlerin ja Brucknerin klassikkosävellysten kautta oman aikamme musiikkiin. Kevään 2018 aikana Musiikkitalon lavalle yhdessä kaupunginorkesterin kanssa nousivat mm. kapellimestari Juraj Valcuha, sopraano Karita Mattila, pianisti Beatrice Rana, sellisti Nicolas Altstaedt ja Sibelius- viulukilpailun voittanut Christel Lee. Kevätkaudella oli tarjolla erikoisprojekti myös lapsiyleisölle. Tarinallisessa konsertissa soivat Iiro Rantalan uudet sävellykset Timo Parvelan Ella ja kaverit konsertissa -kirjaan. Kustannusosakeyhtiö Tammen julkaisemassa kirjassa oli mukana HKO:n levyttämä Ella- albumi. Kevätkausi huipentui Salzburgiin ja Pariisiin suuntautuneeseen konserttikiertueeseen toukokuussa 2018. Orkesteri konsertoi kolmesti Salzburgin Grosses
