Dr. Olson is Medical Director for Emergency Services and Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado. Dr. Mell received his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine at Rockford. Prior to that, he received a Master of Public Health Degree emphasizing Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public Health. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Mell is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine in both emergency medicine and in emergency medical services. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is a Certified Physician Executive through the Certifying Commission in Medical Management. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois at Urbana. Dr. Mell is the EMS Medical Director for EmCare’s North Division and works clinically in a variety of EmCare staffed emergency departments. He is also the EMS Medical Director for the Newark (OH) Division of Fire and for Ohio Ambulance.

Dr. Marcus just completed a combined residency in emergency and at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY. He is joining the faculty at the Hofstra-North Shore LIJ School of Medicine and will be serving as Assistant Program Director for the combined residency. In addition to working in the ED, Dr. Marcus will be consulting as an attending physician in the Division of Medical Ethics. His interests include critical care and point-of-care ultrasonography, clinical ethics, professionalism and medical humanities, and the use of new technologies in medical education.
