XXth International Conference “Geoinformatics: Theoretical and Applied Aspects” 11-14 May 2021, Kiev,

Dear participants I sincerely congratulate you all on the start of the 20th International Conference “Geoinformatics: Theoretical and Applied Aspects”. The creation of information society and the transition to online work was and still is on the agenda of IT companies around the world. COVID‐19 has made its adjustments to this process. The situation has changed in favor of intensive use of computer technologies for online information exchange (online courses and lectures, seminars and conferences), remote studying (schools, universities). The world is changing, and we are changing along with it. Computer technologies have changed the way we access and interact with all information around us and will change our ability to learn and better understand the laws of Nature. "Little virus" COVID‐19 showed us that our knowledge is far from complete. Today we can say that we already know how little we know. 20 years is a little and a lot at the same time. For the development of geoinformatics, these are the first steps in its life. For those who contributed to the start of its development in Ukraine, this is a big stage of life. Participation in the conference back in 2001 had its format. Registration, conference materials, papers presentation, meeting with colleagues, friends, like‐minded people, and communicating with any conference participant. Just as there is no life without water, it is impossible to hold events such as a scientific conference without funding. The decision of Vice‐President of the All‐Ukrainian Association of Geoinformatics B.V. Nagornyuk back in 2001 was correct. He was chairman of "Karbon LTD" and helped to direct its funds to the development of geoinformatics in Ukraine. As time has shown, it was a sensible decision. The basis for the development of geoinformatics in Ukraine for these twenty years, which includes publication and distribution of the Geoinformatics NASU journal, publication of monographs on geoinformatics, a collection of scientific papers: Geoinformatics: theoretical and applied aspects, preparation and holding of this conference was financial support from “Karbon LTD" and affiliated All‐Ukrainian Association of Geoinformatics. All this was done without government or public funding. From 2001 until 2011, we had held conferences independently. In 2011, the EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) and All‐Ukrainian Association of Geoinformatics signed the agreement on the joint holding of the international conference on geoinformatics in Ukraine. Much was done thanks to all of you who have participated in the development and formation of geoinformatics as a science. I thank everyone who has been with us these twenty years together. A low bow, honor, and respect to all those who supported and worked with us but have already left this world forever. The world is changing, teams are changing, and the newborn scientific directions must grow and develop. I wish everyone successful work. Good luck and health to all of you and your families!

Best regards, Chairman of the 20th Conference Program Committee "Geoinformatics: theoretical and applied aspects" Corresponding Member of NASU, Professor M.A. Yakymchuk

XXth International Conference on Geoinformatics ‐ Theoretical and Applied Aspects 2 11‐14 May 2021, , Ukraine GEOINFORMATICS 2021

Dear colleagues

For the second time our conference falls during quarantine when we can't meet the traditional way, therefore it will be held again in online form. As the last year showed, this format increases the number of participants of the conference, and therefore for the authors of the presentations is an excellent opportunity to popularize their research and results of their work. The conference will be held as planned on May 11‐14, 2021. For comfortable work of the conference we have planned 2 virtual halls ‐ Hall 1 and Hall 2 for oral and poster presentations. Below is located information for Halls registration. Also we provide several training sessions before conference for Zoom practice (sound, video, sharing presentation), the training sessions schedule you can find here. To participate in the conference, you will need to make an appointment in the presentation Halls. You will need to enter your First and Last Name and e‐mail address. Do this before the conference starts.

Hall 1 Registration

Hall 2 Registration

STRATION IN HALL 2 Virtual halls are organized on the basis of Zoom platform. Therefore, to participate in the conference you will need to install this software.

XXth International Conference on Geoinformatics ‐ Theoretical and Applied Aspects 20 11‐14 May 2021, Kyiv, Ukraine GEOINFORMATICS 2021

Dear colleagues! Third EAGE Workshop on assessment of landslide hazards and impact on communities based on the monitoring and modelling of these processes using integrated techniques. The aim of this workshop is to introduce the impact of these processes on the building, transport, recreational infrastructure and to discuss what needs to be done to minimize the risk of natural hazards. The Workshop offers a rich scientific programme and a great opportunity to obtain useful information about landslide activity, to join the scientific debate, create partnerships, and to participate in informal meetings, plus interesting and fascinating field excursions within the Middle Dnieper Area. It is also important to note that the conference welcomes students and young scientists in order to provide the venue where they can demonstrate and implement their experience in research, as well as absorb the knowledge and skills from experienced scholars. The workshop will take place in the wonderful city with a lively history – Odessa. The city’s well‐preserved historic center has a lot of attractions. The Odessa Opera House is dazzling and hosts world‐class performances. IMPORTANT DATES Call for papers deadline 31 July 2021 Notification about the 15 August 2021 Programme to the Authors Workshop 20‐23 September 2021 TECHNICAL PROGRAMME The technical programme consists of oral and poster presentations on a wide range topic. The main working language of the conference ‐ English. TOPICS 01 Regional and local forecasting of landslides 02 Monitoring and multiscale modelling of landslides and debris flows 03 Assessment of natural hazards and new techniques for risk mitigation 04 Building landslide‐resilient communities and social aspects of landslide hazards assessment 05 Geophysical methods and Remote sensing for landslide investigations

FIELD TRIP One‐day field trip will take place within Odesa region of Ukraine. This area features active development of landslide phenomena, abrasion processes, floods and side erosion.

EAGE INVITES TO XV International Scientific Conference «Monitoring of geological processes and ecological condition of the environment (MGPECE)» 17-19 November 2021, Kyiv, Ukraine

European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) with ESI “Institute of Geology” of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with organizes a XIV International Conference on ‘Monitoring of geological processes and ecological condition of the environment (MGPECE)' dedicated to monitoring of natural hazards, which include both geological hazards, and study the geological factors that can lead to environmental disasters. The conference will include new approaches of using geological and geophysical methods for natural and man–made processes assessment, as well as ecological analysis of territories. Objective of this event is to facilitate exchange of valuable scientific experience, integration of different sectors of research, and improvement of interagency and international cooperation.

TOPICS OF THE CONFERENCE  Modern technologies of geophysical monitoring  Monitoring of aquatic environment and atmospheric air • Monitoring for risk minimization and prevention  Geophysics in engineering geology, soil science, archaeology • Aerospace methods
