Technical Programme XXth International Conference “Geoinformatics: Theoretical and Applied Aspects” 11-14 May 2021, Kiev, Ukraine Dear participants I sincerely congratulate you all on the start of the 20th International Conference “Geoinformatics: Theoretical and Applied Aspects”. The creation of information society and the transition to online work was and still is on the agenda of IT companies around the world. COVID‐19 has made its adjustments to this process. The situation has changed in favor of intensive use of computer technologies for online information exchange (online courses and lectures, seminars and conferences), remote studying (schools, universities). The world is changing, and we are changing along with it. Computer technologies have changed the way we access and interact with all information around us and will change our ability to learn and better understand the laws of Nature. "Little virus" COVID‐19 showed us that our knowledge is far from complete. Today we can say that we already know how little we know. 20 years is a little and a lot at the same time. For the development of geoinformatics, these are the first steps in its life. For those who contributed to the start of its development in Ukraine, this is a big stage of life. Participation in the conference back in 2001 had its format. Registration, conference materials, papers presentation, meeting with colleagues, friends, like‐minded people, and communicating with any conference participant. Just as there is no life without water, it is impossible to hold events such as a scientific conference without funding. The decision of Vice‐President of the All‐Ukrainian Association of Geoinformatics B.V. Nagornyuk back in 2001 was correct. He was chairman of "Karbon LTD" and helped to direct its funds to the development of geoinformatics in Ukraine. As time has shown, it was a sensible decision. The basis for the development of geoinformatics in Ukraine for these twenty years, which includes publication and distribution of the Geoinformatics NASU journal, publication of monographs on geoinformatics, a collection of scientific papers: Geoinformatics: theoretical and applied aspects, preparation and holding of this conference was financial support from “Karbon LTD" and affiliated All‐Ukrainian Association of Geoinformatics. All this was done without government or public funding. From 2001 until 2011, we had held conferences independently. In 2011, the EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) and All‐Ukrainian Association of Geoinformatics signed the agreement on the joint holding of the international conference on geoinformatics in Ukraine. Much was done thanks to all of you who have participated in the development and formation of geoinformatics as a science. I thank everyone who has been with us these twenty years together. A low bow, honor, and respect to all those who supported and worked with us but have already left this world forever. The world is changing, teams are changing, and the newborn scientific directions must grow and develop. I wish everyone successful work. Good luck and health to all of you and your families! Best regards, Chairman of the 20th Conference Program Committee "Geoinformatics: theoretical and applied aspects" Corresponding Member of NASU, Professor M.A. Yakymchuk XXth International Conference on Geoinformatics ‐ Theoretical and Applied Aspects 2 11‐14 May 2021, Kyiv, Ukraine GEOINFORMATICS 2021 Dear colleagues For the second time our conference falls during quarantine when we can't meet the traditional way, therefore it will be held again in online form. As the last year showed, this format increases the number of participants of the conference, and therefore for the authors of the presentations is an excellent opportunity to popularize their research and results of their work. The conference will be held as planned on May 11‐14, 2021. For comfortable work of the conference we have planned 2 virtual halls ‐ Hall 1 and Hall 2 for oral and poster presentations. Below is located information for Halls registration. Also we provide several training sessions before conference for Zoom practice (sound, video, sharing presentation), the training sessions schedule you can find here. To participate in the conference, you will need to make an appointment in the presentation Halls. You will need to enter your First and Last Name and e‐mail address. Do this before the conference starts. Hall 1 Registration Hall 2 Registration STRATION IN HALL 2 Virtual halls are organized on the basis of Zoom platform. Therefore, to participate in the conference you will need to install this software. App installation Zoom for windows Other versions (All platforms) Here is a good guide to Zoom.
