The region is characterized by three landscapes which are Eifel, Moselle and Hunsrück. The highest peak of the mountain range of Eifel and Hunsrück is the Erbeskopf with an altitude of 818 metre. Der Kreisverband unterstützt während der Corona-Pandemie Der Kreisverband unterstützt hier im Landkreis an vielen Stellen bei der Bekämpfung der Pandemie und ist im Krisenstab des Landkreises vertreten. Von März bis April 2020 fuhr das Fiebertaxi, parallel unterstützten wir bis August in der Corona-Teststation und führen seit Herbst hausintern und in einigen DRK- Einrichtungen wie dem DRK-Sozialwerk und dem DRK-Rettungsdienst Corona- Schnelltests durch. Mit dem Einsatz von mobilen Impfteams wurden durch uns rund 1.000 Impfungen in 14 Seniorenheimen im Kreis durchgeführt. Die Leitung des Landesimpfzentrums in Wittlich übernahmen wir im Dezember 2020 und haben mit Kreisbereitschaftsleiter Eric Schlöder einen kompetenten und erfahrenen Mitarbeiter dort einsetzen können. Unterstützt wird er von Lisa Rosendahl, die bereits in der AfA für das DRK tätig war. Zusätzlich wird der Sanitätswachdienst mit Hilfe der Ortsvereine im Impfzentrum sichergestellt. 20 Jahre Notfallnachsorge im Kreis Bernkastel-Wittlich Am 30.10.2000 wurde die Notfallnachsorge des DRK Kreisverbands Bernkastel- Wittlich e.V. gegründet und feierte im vergangenen Jahr das 20. Jubiläum. Die ausschließlich ehrenamtlich tätigen Helferinnen und Helfer leisten "Erste Hilfe für die Seele". Sie sind in den ersten Stunden zur Stelle, damit Menschen nach einem Unfall, Unglück oder Notfall nicht allein sind, bis Angehörige oder Freunde ihnen zur Seite stehen können. Sie hören zu, sie trösten, sie reden oder schweigen, sie leiten erste organisatorische Schritte ein - wie der Betroffene sich dies wünscht.

Far more than just a power struggle between the Catholic Church and the new German state, the conflict became a true “struggle for culture” that reached into remote villages, affecting Catholic men, women, and children, regardless of their age, gender, or social standing, as the state arrested clerics and liberal, Protestant polemicists castigated Catholics as ignorant, anti-modern, effeminate minions of the clerical hierarchy. In response to this assault on their faith, most Catholics defended their Church and clerics; however, Catholic reactions to anti- clerical legislation were neither uniform nor clerically-controlled. Instead, Catholics’ Kulturkampf activism took many different forms, highlighting both individual Catholics’ personal agency in deciding if, when, and how to take part in the struggle as well as the diverse factors that motivated, shaped, and constrained their activism. Catholics resisted anti-clerical legislation in ways that reflected their personal lived experience; attending to the distinctions between men’s and women’s activism or those between older and younger Catholics’ participation highlights individuals’ different social and communal roles and the diverse ways in which they experienced and negotiated the dramatic transformations the new nation underwent in its first decade of existence. Investigating the patterns and distinctions in Catholics’ Kulturkampf activism illustrates how Catholics understood the Church-State conflict, making clear what various groups within the Catholic community felt was at stake in the struggle, as well as how external factors such as the hegemonic contemporary discourses surrounding gender roles, class status, age and social roles, the division of public and private, and the feminization of religion influenced their activism.

Seitens der VG-Verwaltung Wittlich-Land wird eine Finanzierung abgelehnt, da es sich um keinen überregionalen Wanderweg handelt. Dies wird vom Ausschuss angezweifelt, da ein Seitensprung dem Moselsteig zuzuordnen ist, welcher zweifelsfrei überregional ist.
