SAC Zuraidah Abdullah, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police,

Mdm Zuraidah Abdullah is a Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SAC) at the Singapore Police Force (SPF), and has been seconded to Immigration and Checkpoints Authority as Domain Commander, Air Domain, Integrated Checkpoints Command since 1 October 2015.

She has spent 29 years at the SPF, holding several key appointments including Commander , Commander Training Command concurrent Deputy Chief Executive (Admin), Commander , Deputy Director of Planning & Organisation Department, Deputy Director Service Development and Inspectorate Department and Deputy Commander of Training Command.

She was Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan MENDAKI, a self-help group and a non- profit organisation, during a 2007-2009 secondment. During her three years there, she led the organisation in its efforts to uplift the Singapore Malay/Muslim community to achieve its vision of a Community of Excellence. In 2007, Mdm Zuraidah was also the first woman to be appointed to the Council of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore.

In addition, she serves on numerous governing boards in the public sector, including the National Library Board and the Malay Heritage Foundation. She is presently Chairman of the Malay Heritage Foundation.

Dr Yeo Sze Ling, Research Scientist, A*Star Institute for Infocomm Research

Dr Yeo Sze Ling is the first completely blind person to pursue Mathematics up to a PhD level at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Since 2005, she has been a research scientist at A*Star Institute for Infocomm Research, writing papers on coding theory and cryptography, the science of encrypting and protecting data.

In 2012, she won the Singapore Youth Award, the nation’s highest accolade for youth who have excelled in their fields, given back to society and inspired others.

Simrat Sawhney, Industry Lead, Travel, SEA, Facebook

Ms Simrat Sawhney leads client partnerships for the travel vertical in South East Asia. Prior to her current role, Ms Sawhney led the e-commerce vertical for the India market and worked with the largest online retailers in the country to help them achieve their business objectives on Facebook.

She is responsible for advising online brands on their performance- and profitability- focused digital marketing and branding strategies. Prior to joining Facebook, Ms Sawhney worked as a consultant at Brand Karma and has a wealth of experience advising luxury, travel and hospitality brands on their online reputation management and brand strategy.

Lim Ke Xin, Senior Tax Manager, PwC

Singapore Management University’s first female Valedictorian, Ms Lim Ke Xin graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy and major in Law (summa cum laude) in 2005 on a dual scholarship.

Over the last 11 years, Ms Lim’s dynamic international tax career in Singapore, London and now, Jakarta, has supported PwC’s top tier clients across tax structuring, advisory, compliance, transaction and thought leadership assignments.

Driving young members’ engagement, Ms Lim is the youngest governing Council member in the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants’ 51-year history. She also serves as council member at the Singapore Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, and has represented the nation in different capacities internationally.

Spurred by the belief that “we can all make a difference”, Ms Lim has been actively involved in volunteer work since she was 17. Her diverse community involvement spans hands on, advocacy and leadership roles with National Youth Council, YMCA, Yellow Ribbon Project, Rotaract, Financial Women’s Association (Singapore), People’s Association, and Initiatives of Change among many others.

For her wide-ranging achievements, she was named ‘Rising Star’ at the Financial Times-RBS Coutts Women in Asia awards 2010, ‘Young Accountant of the Year’ at the inaugural Singapore Accountancy Awards 2014.

Rachel Lim, Co-founder, local online fashion store Love, Bonito

Ms Rachel Lim is one of the pioneers of Singapore’s online fashion retail scene, having started her own online business at the tender age of 19. At a time when e-commerce was minimal, Ms Lim and the brand was immediately propelled to the forefront of the industry, revolutionizing and headlining the spheres of online retail and redefined the fashion scene in Singapore. The style maven continued to garner a strong following among women with her innate ability to engage, relate and connect with them. In line with Love, Bonito's mission to empower women's confidence through style, she is able to further touch and impact the community of women she and the brand have created. With a personal mantra to live life on the edge and in seizing every opportunity, Ms Lim left school to grow the business. Today, Love, Bonito remains as the leading online retailer, constantly pushing boundaries and scaling new heights. She has grown the brand beyond Singapore to Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Australia. Ms Lim believes that everyone has a purpose destined for them and she endeavours to inspire them to discover and live out their true purpose.

Ms Lim has recently been honoured by Forbes and made it to the first ever 30 under 30 Asia list. She is the only Singaporean under the Retail and e-Commerce segment.

In addition, Ms Lim is a popular social media influencer, with over 80,000 followers on her Instagram account.

Tjin Lee, CEO, Mercury Group of Companies

Ms Tjin Lee is CEO of the award-winning Mercury Group of companies which she founded in 2001. Mercury Group serves fashion, lifestyle and luxury brand clients via Mercury Events, Mercury PR, Mercury Creative and Mercury Marketing & Communications.

Ms Lee began her career in fashion and luxury lifestyle as part of the marketing team of high-end fashion retailer Club 21. After starting Mercury, she spearheaded Audi Fashion Festival from 2009 to 2014. The event was renamed Singapore Fashion Week in 2015. A passionate entrepreneur, Ms Lee holds directorships in nine local businesses, such as Curated Editions, Baby Style Icon and Wolfgang Violin Studio.

In 2014, she co-founded CRIB, Singapore's first business and lifestyle incubator targeted at women. The social enterprise aims to empower and encourage women from all walks of life to create successful, responsible and innovative businesses through networking, matchmaking and business incubation – while maintaining work-life balance.

Cheryl Ou, Founder, socially-conscious nail salon Nail Social

Ms Cheryl Ou is a self-taught entrepreneur who started her first business, Polished Divas Nail Lounge, at the age of 22. She won her first major entrepreneurship award, the Spirit of Enterprise, when she was 25.

Since then, she has been very active in the start-up scene and has successfully spearheaded multiple businesses across many industries, including Wink Hostel (Singapore’s first pod hostel), The Lumenere Group (a celebrity engagement agency) and Anchora Collections (a fair trade jewellery line).

In her leisure time, she is a travel junkie who seeks out adventurous experiences such as swimming with Great White Sharks and living with Leopards in South Africa. Ms Ou is also very passionate about social projects, believing that she can help make the world a better place.
