Arshad Islam Head, Department of History & Civilization, International Islamic University Malaysia Abstract: On Saturday 7th July 2007, the New Seven Wonders Foundation, Switzerland, in its new ranking, again declared the Taj Mahal to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Taj Mahal is not just an architectural feat and an icon of luminous splendour, but an epitome of enormous love as well. The Mughal Emperor Shahjahan (1592-1666) built the Taj Mahal, the fabulous mausoleum (rauza), in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal (1593-1631). There is perhaps no better and grander monument built in the history of human civilization dedicated to love. The contemporary Mughal sources refer to this marvel as rauza-i-munavvara (‘the illumined tomb’); the Taj Mahal of Agra was originally called Taj Bibi-ka-Rauza. It is believed that the name ‘Taj Mahal’ has been derived from the name of Mumtaz Mahal (‘Crown Palace’). The pristine purity of the white marble, the exquisite ornamentation, use of precious gemstones and its picturesque location all make Taj Mahal a marvel of art. Standing majestically at the southern bank on the River Yamuna, it is synonymous with love and beauty. This paper highlights the architectural design and beauty of the Taj, and Shahjahan’s dedicated love for his beloved wife that led to its construction. The creation of Pakistan as presented by majority in history was neither an accidental opportunistic goal of some political leaders, and neither was it a two nation theory for separation of Muslims from the Hindu majority of India. Pakistan was made with a vision, and this vision was presented and the picture of Pakistan was created by none other than the Late Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Iqbal was a philosopher, thinker and a visionary born in Sialkot on 9th November 1877 and continued his educational journey in India and Europe which took him through a turbulence that not only changed his life but also ended up in presentation of thoughts, which if revived can reform several upcoming generations, thus granting them salvation from clutches of various forms of slavery. Iqbal’s vision about Pakistan was completely different from the Pakistan of today. His thoughts gave birth to the concept of Pakistan and also became practical with the creation of Pakistan but the real idea could not bear its fruits till date. Iqbal in his era also was an unrecognized personality and even today the real thoughts of Iqbal are not recognized in the Indian subcontinent.

This study is conducted under the influence of Mitra (1999) experiments in child driven education. By using convenient sampling, two groups of thirty two ESL learners of grade 5th from one government school are selected randomly for the research. To find out whether SOLE is effective for learning comprehension, the researchers have used quasi experiment. The tools used for this experiment are pretest and posttest. One group of thirty two students is taken as controlled group and is taught how to have ESL comprehension by traditional method. The other group is experimental group and the researchers leave the learners in IT lab to learn ESL comprehension independently. The researchers assign some tasks to the learners and they complete these tasks by using computer on their own. After the experiment of 20 days it has been found from the comparison of the results gained through posttest from both the groups that the effect of self-organized learning environment on the comprehension of ESL learners is more than the traditional learning environment.

Prof. Dr. Gökçe Özdemir Umutlu 2019 This case study investigates the significance of cultural resources on development of a micro-destination in the context of comparative analysis method. The study site is Shahi Guzargah, a linear historical passage within Walled city of Lahore. Despite the fact that Shahi Guzargah along with its neighboring streets are congested, lacks proper infrastructure and economically weak but yet it has the potential of transforming it to a tourist destination. This study highlights the potential hidden in the preservation of cultural resources through proper and concrete planning of living heritage city. And how it improves socio-economic standards of community and effects tourism. Semi-structured open-ended interview question-forms were used to collect qualitative data from 14 respective stakeholders of the walled city and 10 concerned officials. The results of the study show that preservation of cultural resources impacts and accelerates positively the development process of a destination. All opinions and gathered information reflect the importance for cultural preservation and its effect on increasing tourism.     Mughal architecture in lahore pdf Continue When the Muslims took over parts of Punjab, Kashmir and the Border, they not only introduced a new religion that is Islam, but also brought a new form of architecture and fine art to this pure country. Mosques, gardens, forts, palaces and mausoleums were built. These architectural monuments were so different that they divided the history of Park Indo into two separate parts: pre-Islamic and Islamic periods. When the British came in as the East India Company and ruled for more than a century, they also introduced English architecture on the Indo-Pak subcontinent. Later it seemed that the architecture of this region is now a fusion of Mughal and English architecture. When Pakistan came into force, the British left running the administration and infrastructure for both the governments of Pakistan as well as India. In Pakistan, almost all major buildings are built in cooperation with foreign firms. The results can be seen as a hybrid architecture, as designers from outside Pakistan have tried to give a modern look to the city. Below is a brief account of the main Islamic architecture built by the Mughals in Pakistan. The Naulaha Pavilion Naulaha Pavilion is named after the nine rupees of the nine rupees it took to build this. It is a small white marble building with a large arched entrance and a roof of corvexes. It is located next to the courtyard sheesh mahal. The structure is laid with many precious and semi-precious stones. Due to its location, it provides an amazing view of the ancient city, Lahore.
