Publications List - May 2019 Cymdeithas Hanes Teuluoedd Clwyd Clwyd Family History Society CYLCHGRAWN CYMDEITHAS HANES TEULUOEDD CLWYD CLWYD FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY Clwyd Family History Society Registered Charity no. 512068 Publications List - May 2019 Parish Register Transcriptions In 1984, members of Clwyd FHS began the massive task of making full transcriptions of all the pre - 1813 Parish Registers for North East Wales. At that time, the year 1813 was chosen as a cut off date, because the older registers - before 1754 for marriages and before 1813 for baptisms and burials - are difficult to read, as standardised layouts were not normally used before those dates. The work has involved a considerable amount of initial transcribing, checking, resolving queries (with the assistance of the staffs of the County Record Offices and the National Library of Wales), typing, re-checking and indexing. In most cases, the transcriptions have been made from the facsimiles (bound photocopies of the original registers), which are held by the local Rector or Vicar; but where these have been difficult to read, the Flintshire and Denbighshire Record Offices have allowed the Society to transcribe from the original registers - with the use of an Ultra-Violet lamp if necessary. The entries in the registers have also been checked against the Bishops Transcripts (where these exist) and in some cases the Bishops Transcripts have been used to fill gaps in the original registers. Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy. The County Record Offices, the National Library of Wales and the authorities of the Church in Wales have been extremely cooperative throughout the project. The project is now complete - up to the year 1813. For some parishes, working parties have enthusiastically continued "beyond" 1813 and the Society is now encouraging member volunteers to extend the project well into the twentieth century. To date, over 600 Booklets (A4 size) have been published. You can also buy our publications via the "Web" at www.clwydfhs.org.uk and www.genfair.co.uk Monumental Inscriptions Members of Clwyd FHS are now recording Monumental Inscriptions from the churchyards and burial grounds of North East Wales. More than 90 Booklets (A4 size) have already been published and more are expected in the near future. OSWALD ROAD, OSWESTRY, 1878. PREFACE F all the works which have been written relating to the general or family history O of North Wales, none have been for centuries more esteemed than the History of the Gwydir Family. The Hon. Daines Barrington, in his preface to his first edition of the work, published in 1770, has well said, "The MS. hath, for above.a cent~ry, been so prized in North Wales, that many in those parts have thought it worth while to make fair and complete transcripts of it." Of these transcripts the earliest known to exist is one in the Library at Brogyntyn. It was probably written within 45 years of the death of the author; but besides that, it contains a great number of notes and additions of nearly the same date, which have never yet appeared in print. The History of the Gwydir Family has been thrice published. The first editiun, edited by the Hon. Daines Barrington, issued from the press in 1770. The second was published in Mr.

  • Dyffryn Clwyd Mission Area
Dyffryn Clwyd Mission Area Application Pack: November 2019 The Diocese of St Asaph In the Diocese of St Asaph or Teulu Asaph, we’re • Growing and encouraging the whole people of God • Enlivening and enriching worship • Engaging the world We’re a family of more than 7,000 regular worshippers, with 80 full time clergy, over 500 lay leaders, 216 churches and 51 church schools. We trace our history to the days of our namesake, St Asaph and his mentor, St Kentigern who it’s believed built a monastery in St Asaph in AD 560. Many of the churches across the Diocese were founded by the earliest saints in Wales who witnessed to Christian faith in Wales and have flourished through centuries of war, upheaval, reformation and reorganisation. Today, the Diocese of St Asaph carries forward that same Mission to share God’s love to all in 21th Century north east and mid Wales. We’re honoured to be a Christian presence in every community, to walk with people on the journey of life and to offer prayers to mark together the milestones of life. Unlocking our Potential is the focus of our response to share God’s love with people across north east and mid Wales. Unlocking our Potential is about bringing change, while remaining faithful to the life-giving message of Jesus. It’s about challenging, inspiring and equipping the whole people of God to grow in their faith. Geographically, the Diocese follows the English/Welsh border in the east, whilst the western edge is delineated by the Conwy Valley.

It is important that your Local Planning Authority (LPA) uses the pre-application process to inform itself about the application and gather information that will assist in the production of a Local Impact Report (LIR), written representations, and any Statement of Common Ground (SOCG). Adopting a proactive approach at this stage is likely to reduce the demand on the Authority’s resources during the examination stage. Further guidance on this matter can be found in the Inspectorate’s Procedural Guidance document (http://gov.wales/topics/planning/developcontrol/developments-of-national- significance/guidance/?lang=en). As you may be aware, it is the Inspectorate’s responsibility to publish details of the application when it has been submitted, and to write to those who may be affected by it. In view of this it would be extremely helpful if you were able to provide a list of people you would have notified, had the application been made directly to you, as soon as possible.
