MARK BOUTROS
Mark is an award-winning screenwriter, and experienced script editor and producer, having worked across multiple genres. He co-wrote the one-off comedy drama about Muhammad Ali, THE GREATEST. OF ALL TIME, which was broadcast on Sky Arts in early 2017 as part of their Emmy nominated ‘Urban Myths’ season. He has had script commissions from Shiny Button and Flying Elephant Productions, and scripts optioned by Channel X, Happy Tramp, Tidy Productions and Grand Scheme Media. His original sitcom BROKEN BETH was a silver award winner at the 2016 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards in the TV Comedy Pilot category. He has recently developed a new live action series idea with CBBC, and wrote on Romesh Ranganathan’s THE RELUCTANT LANDLORD Series 2 for Sky/CPL Productions.
Most recently he has written CBBC’s new sitcom LAGGING and their long running drama series THE DUMPING GROUND, plus new comedy series MONSTER COURT for DLT Entertainment & CBBC. Currently he is co- writing a drama pilot for Raindog Films and developing a sitcom with Fabel Productions.
He has also worked extensively as a writer, producer and script editor in comedy entertainment on shows such as GO 8-BIT (DLT Entertainment for Dave), 8 OUT OF 10 CATS (Zeppotron for C4) and THROUGH THE KEYHOLE (TalkBack for ITV1).
Mark holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia.
