Our packages are all-inclusive: ● All FLY and conventional IGFA standup 30/50 pound tackle and bait ● Meals & snacks, beverages, and beer when on the Yacht (Hard alcohol on you) ● Licenses and offshore travel documents ● Thumper shirts and swag ● Membership in The Billfish Foundation including tags, shirts and Official ● TBF release certificates (we are no-kill on billfish). ● Complimentary lodging at our awesome Casa Thumper ● Individual Yeti mugs for each angler (no plastic initiative)
Thumper, a 60 ft. Mikelson custom Sport Fish is fully air-conditioned. Clients have 2 private double staterooms with en-suite hot showers and heads, separate 2 man bunk room and sky view loft double bed in Salon. The crew of 4 bunks on the separate upper deck.
Thumper is equipped with twin MAN diesel mains and twin diesel Gen sets, new Furuno X series radar, sonar, twin GPS, twin Radio, sat phone, Garmin global i n/out text, tender, 5 tuna tubes, huge live well, twin freezers, modern kitchen and bar, sea anchor, WiFi and cable at the dock. We have all required USCG safety equipment including Viking emergency life raft, full Med. kit, and AED. Charter insurance through Lloyds.
Additional options: include custom trips from Panama ( including canal crossing) and Expeditions to Guatemala, Cocos Island, dive instructor and gear (free/tank/spearfish), underwater photography, a videographer with a drone and video coverage and personal Chef/Hostess. We also offer inshore Rooster fishing, kayak fishing, excursions t o surfing beaches, waterfalls, jungle treehouse resorts, day spa, jungle treks, beach resorts, deserted island beaches, botanical gardens and bird and wildlife excursions and exciting Zipline through the jungle canopy. Inshore Rooster fishing full day with a guide is $650, 2 angler max. Larger panga that accommodates 4, $950...Includes food and drinks... Our Rooster fishing is world-class. Our car with English speaking guide and driver is available to you for tours @ $100 a day plus tip when in Golfito.
Accommodations: While in Golfito you are welcome to spend your shore days on the yacht docked at Fishhook Marina at no charge. If you prefer, our gorgeous Casa Thumper is within walking distance from the Marina with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths (including Golfito's only bathtub), completely air-conditioned, private sunning decks, water and jungle views, grotto pool, on-grounds parking, security, wifi and cable and is available at no cost to our clients (subject to availability) who want to spend some time touring the area or for your families to use while you are at sea. Daily maid service including laundry is available. You may tip the maid.
Rates and Programs: Thumper Bluewater Expeditions offers 3 , 4 and 5 day/overnight charters from Golfito to the prolific offshore Costa Rican Marlin seamounts and FAD’s and 5-day expeditions to Hannibal Bank, Panama for up to 5 hardcore anglers. Our Charter rate for the yacht and up to 5 anglers is $3800 per 24-hour offshore day plus crew tips (Depending on client preferences we normally carry a crew of 4 or 5.) The minimum tip rate is $100 for mates, $300 for Capt. per day. Bonus at the client’s discretion. Our agent Alberto Moreno (cc'd this EM) can make all in-country reservations for shuttle flights, tours, etc. Deposit required upon booking equal to one trip-day plus 13 percent Costa Rican VAT. Wiring instructions will be provided. Balance due in US cash when in Golfito.
We also organize 3 day/4-night share trips for anglers who don’t have a full crew but want to go Marlin fishing. Cost is $2,900 per angler for 4 anglers max plus VAT. Three angler share trips are $3,800 per angler plus VAT. Payment for share trips must be paid in advance.
I would love to share my passion for Marlin fishing with you. Our Capt. Tommy Lynskey is one of the world’s top Marlin fishermen. We fish a bait and switch technique with 30/50 Lbs. stand-ups that provide maximum angler participation with the average bite within 30 feet of the transom. You and your guests are welcome to mate in the pit, hook fish, rig bait, wire, tag etc. as you feel competent. Our Marlin fishery is year-round fishing the prolific Seamounts and our personal FAD’s offshore Golfito hard on the Panama border. January thru March i s a mixed bag with Marlin, sails, mahi mahi and yellowfin tuna . April thru December i s a hardcore Billfish season with Blacks, Blues, Stripes and Sails. In Aug. 2019 Capt.
