(Hong Kong, 7 October 2016) The Hong Kong Art Gallery Association has announced today the highlights of an expanded and exciting programme for the fourth edition of Hong Kong Art Week – Autumn Edition, sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Private Banking. New highlights include The Gallery Walk for Charity and a two day Art Symposium.

Since its inception in 2012, HKAGA has played a major part in the promotion of art development in Hong Kong, working with gallerists, local art experts, curators and cultural spaces in the city to create Art Week – Autumn Edition, now a fully fledged art Festival that cements the city’s position as Asia’s global art hub.

Growing on the success of previous years Art Week – Autumn Edition 2016 aims to actively reach out to a wider public with a diverse and more developed programme than ever before. Gallery talks have been replaced by a two day Art Symposium, to be held at Asia Society and supported by the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong. A major city wide Gallery Walk for Charity will be inaugurated on the 3rd November, there will be a new community-wide family art day event will be hosted in Tamar Park, along with Art Treasure Hunts through the city’s art districts, and HKAGA will use the week to launch a dedicated mobile map app that guides users around cultural highlights and galleries in the city.

Christine Chan Chiu, General Manager of the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association said, “As the artistic and cultural scene in Hong Kong gains ever more momentum The HKAGA is passionate about bringing the treasures to be found in galleries, and in exploring the city through its restaurants, exhibitions
