October 2017 Page 1 FIVE ACES LAND SPOT ON PERFECT GAME MOE’S SOUTHWEST GRILL ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM SPOTLIGHT PLAYER OF THE MONTH Two weeks ago, the Mizuno Aces 2019 American club headed south to Fort Myers, FL. to take part in the 2017 Perfect Game Underclass World Championship. With the best talent in the country and hundreds of college programs littering the bleachers, the boys came out with a 2-2 record and loads of 9U DAYLEN LINTON interests from college coaches. Highlighting the weekend from the stat book, five players RHP/INF/OF earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. From the mound, BELLE HAVEN, VA. Evan Harris, Mason Fluharty and Devin McClendon stood out, striking out more than half of the hitter’s they faced. At the plate, it was Matt Sinko and Brett Swift who delivered double after double to cash in Aces baserunners. Congratulations to these five for their efforts and performanc- es. Solid team right here with great chemistry. #GoAces Coming in as October’s Player of the Month is 9U East’s Daylen Linton! Kid has been a force for the club as they have been motoring through their opponents this fall. From the bump, the righty has pitched eight innings, striking out 21 hitters. Linton is 2-0 with one save so far this fall. From the plate, the Eastern Shore, Virginia native is sporting a .348 batting average, and second on the team in RBI’s (runs batted in). Prior to this fall, the 9U placed in the top five in the entire nation for the Pitch, Hit, and Run competition. Awesome job, Daylen! #GoAces THIRD ANNUAL LIVE/SILENT AUCTION SLATED FOR NOVEMBER 11TH AT OC BREWING COMPANY We are only a few weeks away from the biggest fundraiser of the year! All 24 Delmarva Aces/Mizuno Aces teams will have tables represented in effort to off-set player and tournament costs for the upcoming spring/summer. Join us for an evening of food, friends, fellowship, and fun on November 11th from 6-11pm at OC Brewing Company on 56th street in Ocean City, MD. There will be buffet from 6-8pm, drink specials, silent/live auction items, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, guest bartenders and more. Bill Baker from Power 101.7 will be the DJ for the night.
