Despite the bleak prospects of a solution that would guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people, Najjar is not giving up. She has made it her mission to use the power of film to expose the gross injustice of the Israeli occupation and its effect on the lives of ordinary Palestinians. In 2009, she wrote and directed her debut feature film,Pomegranates and Myrhh, which won critical acclaim and 10 international awards, and this year was nominated to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. eniGma’s Chairman, Samia Farid Shihata, got the chance to sit down with the Palestinian filmmaker to learn more about her remarkable journey in filmmaking.
