Alondra Boulevard Bridge Fact Sheet 12 I-5 South Corridor Improvement Projects California Department of Transportation Interstate 5 HOV Lane & Widening Project Alondra Boulevard Bridge FACT SHEET The Project The Santa Ana Freeway (Interstate 5) Alondra Boulevard Bridge Project, in the City of Santa Fe Springs, will reconstruct the Alondra Boulevard overcrossing bridge and will widen nearly one mile of I-5 from North Fork Coyote Creek to Marquardt Avenue. The project will add one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV), or carpool lane, and one general-purpose lane in each direction, widen shoulders and construct a concrete median barrier. Summary In April 2012, the Alondra Boulevard Bridge Project was the second of six segments to begin construction as part of the I-5 South Corridor Improvement Projects from the Los Angeles/Orange County line to the San Gabriel River Freeway (I-605). Three other segments are Project Costs currently in construction on the I-5 South Corridor at The $110 million (M) project is funded by the following state, Carmenita Road, Rosecrans/Bloomfield avenues, and federal and local resources: State Proposition 1B: Corridor Imperial Highway/Pioneer Boulevard. The fifth segment, Mobility Improvement Account (CMIA-$72.2M); State the Florence Avenue Interchange, will begin Transportation Improvement Program (STIP-$8.6M); construction by late 2013.
