Identifying Media Logics in the Content and Formats of Radio FIP on Its Digital Platforms
Department of Informatics and Media, Media & Communication Studies, Two year’s master thesis Music radio stations from the “On Air” to the Online: Identifying media logics in the content and formats of Radio FIP on its digital platforms Student: Nicolas Ignatiew Supervisor: Jakob Svensson 1 Abstract: Internet and digital media have profoundly reorganised the radio landscape by giving birth to new formats and patterns of radio listening. Today, traditional radio actors systematically use online platforms to diffuse their programs and communicate with their audience. This master thesis offers a case study and examines how Radio FIP, a French music station of public service, uses its digital devices to diffuse its program and produce content online. On the basis of existing researches on radio and radio diffusion online, and with the help of the concepts of format, media logics and hybrid media system, the author of this paper defines two logics of traditional radio and radio online used as reference in order to analysis the influence of media logics on the station’s material and formats online. Observation of Radio FIP’s website and social media pages on Facebook and Twitter showed a clear influence of radio online logics in the visual and informative extra content, the additional audio offers through online webradio streams, the promotion of non linear and asynchronous formats of radio listening’s and the incorporation of networked media frames. At the same time, logics of traditional radio prove to be also very significant with the pre-eminence and promotion of the station’s on air broadcast on digital devices and the reproduction of traditional radio patterns of temporality, music prescription and vertical communication on social media platforms. -

A brutal rape led to the birth of the »Cyclops« Tepegöz. Born into an alien world, he was not only hated but also became the bitter enemy of the Oghuz, whose acceptance he desperately desired. This dramatic conflict forms the backdrop for a project that offers a dynamic amalgam of music, images, text, bodies and song. Marc Sinan's work is based on documentary videos of Central Asian musicians which he and Markus Rindt filmed during their extensive journeys through Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, along with video interviews with young Istanbul-based literati, philosophers and thinkers about their take on the story of Tepegöz. The Oghuzian narrative tradition teams up with the many resources of modern theatre and traditional music meets contemporary compositions, thereby opening up a dialogue between medieval folk- lore and the present day. -

SAM (Armand Verdure) is his son, but he hardly knows him. Homeless, penniless and friendless, Ali takes refuge with his sister ANNA (Corinne Masiero) in Antibes, in the south of France. There things improve immediately. She puts them up in her garage, she takes the child under her wing and the weather is glorious. Ali, a man of formidable size and strength, gets a job as a bouncer in a nightclub. He comes to the aid of STEPHANIE (Marion Cotillard) during a nightclub brawl. Aloof and beautiful, Stéphanie seems unattainable, but in his frank manner Ali leaves her his phone number anyway. Stephanie trains orca whales at Marineland. When a performance ends in tragedy, a call in the night again brings them togtether. When Ali sees her next, Stephanie is confined to a wheel chair : she has lost her legs and quite a few illusions. -

Pressemitteilung 12. April 2016 Uraufführung: Violinkonzert Des Ex-Kruzianers Torsten Rasch in Der Kreuzkirche Die Dresdner
Pressemitteilung 12. Programm: 17. Apr 2016, Sonntag, 18.00 Uhr, Kreuzkirche 32 | 30 | 28 | 23 | 20 Euro Franz Schubert (1797-1828): Ouvertüre C-Dur zu „Die Zauberharfe“ D 644 Torsten Rasch (geb. -

This has led me to develop a highly personal modus operandi in which I blend an amalgam of documentary video and sound material with my own contemporary music; a musical score which – in the best tradition of a synthesis of the arts – merges the musical, visual and narrative levels. With ‘Rajasthan’, I will once again rely on this modus operandi – but this time to aid my quest to trace the roots of the Roma people in India, while inviting a group of international artists to explore their potential and shrouded-in-myth origins in Rajasthan.“ Our trip‘s ultimate destination, the town of Dundlod, is a good three-hour drive northwest of Jaipur. Following in the footsteps of ‘Hasretim’ and ‘Dede Korkut’, ‘Rajasthan’ will lead us to the roots of Roma culture, and thereby completing an immensely successful trilogy with the Dresdner Sinfoniker. Together with the group of international musicians and artists from India and Europe – all of whom are united by their Roma lineage – we will set off on a journey to Dundlod. -
