On 05/10/2006, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 by which the undertaking Nokia Corporation (“Nokia”, Finland) acquires within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the Council Regulation control of the undertaking Nokia Siemens Networks (“NSN”), a newly created company to which Nokia and Siemens Aktiengesellschaft (“Siemens”, Germany) will contribute their worldwide mobile and fixed-line telecommunications network equipment businesses. Nokia and Siemens are hereinafter referred to as “the Parties”. 2.
