5 tlubulldogs.com Texas Lutheran Baseball 2015 Season Recap

Texas Lutheran Baseball entered the 2015 season with high expectations and plenty of excitement. With a lineup that brought back a heap of experience and talent, plus a pitching staff made up of steady seniors and tantalizing youngsters, the Bulldogs looked primed to be a force in the SCAC.

For those reasons, among others, the coaches around the SCAC tabbed Texas Lutheran to finish second in the preseason coaches’ poll, the same spot the Bulldogs finished the 2014 campaign.

The Bulldogs did not disappoint. They turned in a season full of memorable moments and remarkable performances, finishing up with a 25-14 overall record and a 13-5 SCAC mark, good enough for second place in the conference standings. Included in the season was a 10-game SCAC winning streak and a three-week stay in the ABCA Coaches Poll Top 30 – a stay that saw the Bulldogs reach as high as No. 27. Senior right-hander Aaron Aleman was the ace of the Bulldog staff, earning All- SCAC First Team honors.
