Dear Newcomers to Wiesbaden,

You have found a new home in Wiesbaden. I would like to welcome you to the beautiful and diverse city we share. Wiesbaden is a colourful, cosmopolitan and tolerant city. Approxi- mately 290,547 people from more than 164 different countries of origin live here together in peace and respect. Our town has a great deal to offer. This includes many historical landmarks as well as the cityscape, which is both architecturally impressive and green. But Wiesbaden also features excellent employment and earning opportunities; a wide range of cultural and educational offerings; won- derful festivals and events; and a quality infrastructure. Day in Mayor and day out, the cohabitation of people of different origins, skin Sven Gerich colour and religions creates a climate of understanding and mutual respect. This respect is just what we all need to learn from and with each other in daily life. It is certainly not easy to leave one's home country, to come to terms with new surroundings and often a whole new language. This guide is designed to help you feel welcome and in time at home here. Dear Newcomers, As City Councillor for Social Affairs, Education, Housing and Integration, I would like to welcome you to Wiesbaden. I am delighted that your journey has brought you to Wiesbaden. In my view, Wiesbaden is a very beautiful and likeable city. A city that is worth getting to know. A city that benefits from the fact that numerous people of different origins have made Wiesbaden their new home and enrich the city’s society with their culture and potential. I hope that you can quickly settle in Wiesbaden and feel at home here. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and welcome in Christoph Manjura Wiesbaden right from the start. "Migrationsberatungsstellen für erwachsene Zuwanderer" (MBE = Migration Counselling Service for Adult Immigrants) and "Jugendmigrations - dienste" (JMD = Youth Migration Services) Counselling services exist for adult immigrants and young immigrants aged between 12 and 27 (at the IB - Internationaler Bund). The aim of these services is to accompany migrants along their path towards integration in Germany and to help them wherever possible. The staff speak several languages. They can offer counsel in a language other than German if you inform the staff beforehand of the language you speak.
