Forsvarets Materiel 2007” har indgået i grundlaget for kom- missionens overvejelser. ”Udvalget vedr. Forsvarets Materiel 2007” blev nedsat af Forsvarsministeriet den 1. oktober 2007 som en del af forberedelserne til en politisk aftale om forsvarets ordning efter 2009. Udvalget bestod af repræsentanter fra Forsvarsministeriet, forsvaret og hjemmeværnet. Opgaven var at foretage en vurdering af levetiden for forsvarets materielsystemer og ho- vedmaterielgenstande med udgangspunkt i forsvarets aktuelle materielsituation, materi- elanskaffelsesprojekter indeholdt i aftale om forsvarets ordning for perioden fra 2005 til 2009, den teknologiske udvikling samt det stigende internationale engagement. Rapporten har en tidshorisont på 20 år efter udløbet af aftale om forsvarets ordning 2005- 2009 og dækker således perioden 2010-2030. Udvalget afleverede sin rapport til Forsvarsministeriet den 16. maj 2008. Rapporten blev umiddelbart herefter sendt til Forsvarskommissionens medlemmer. The material has been compiled from a multitude of sources the first of which is my research in the Danish National and Military archives, the second is material from the archives of Flyvevåbnet with which I had a fruitful cooperation in the years 1966 to 1980 and the third are the now (fortunately) many books and magasines as well as the Internet which contains information about Danish military aircraft. The pictures in Volume 1 and Volume 2-the photo album- have mainly been selected from the viewpoint of typicality and rarety and whereever possible pictures of operational aircraft in colour has been chosen. Most of the b/w picures in some way originate from the FLV historical archives, some were originally discovered there by me, whereas others have surfaced later.

The 2018-2023 Danish Defence Agreement remains extant, and assesses that Denmark faces more serious threats than in any other period following the fall of the Berlin Wall. In response to this, Denmark wishes to enhance its capacity for collective deterrence and defence within NATO; to enhance its ability to participate in international military operations and international stabilisation efforts for the purposes of, inter alia, fighting terrorism, capacity building, and handling of irregular migration flows; to strengthen its ability to contribute to the national security of Denmark, which includes increasing support to the Danish National Police; and to enhance its ability to protect Danish society from cyber threats and propaganda campaigns. Denmark considers NATO as the cornerstone of its security and defence policy. It recognises, inter alia, that it may become a staging area for reinforcements from other NATO Allies, and that, therefore, it must be able to receive, to host and to protect these reinforcements. Denmark wishes to improve its ability to operate with larger Allied army formations that can be deployed within NATO territory. Denmark also wishes to: enhance its cyber defences; allocate more resources to the Danish Defence Intelligence Service; and enhance its military presence and surveillance in the Arctic. 2. In January 2019, a supplementary defence agreement was agreed in the Danish Parliament, with broad cross-party support. This out-of-cycle political agreement provides additional funding of DKK 1.5 billion (US$ 238.03 million) in 2023.

    Danish Ministry of Defence Copenhagen, 10 June 2004 4 Appendices The Liberals, the Conservatives, the Social Democrats, the Danish People's Party, the Social Liberals and the Christian Democrats have entered into the following agreement regarding Danish Defence from 2005 - 2009. Introduction 1. Danish Defence is an important factor in an active Danish foreign and security policy aimed at a peaceful development in the world with promotion of democracy, freedom and human rights. The goals of Danish Defence are the following:) to counter direct and indirect threats to the security of Denmark and allied countries, 2) to maintain Danish sovereignty and the protection of Danish citizens, and 3) to work towards international peace and security in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter, especially through conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking and humanitarian operations. The development within security policy requires Danish Defence to strengthen its capacities in two central areas: 1) internationally deployable military capacities and 2) the ability to counter acts of terror and their consequences. The United Nations is the main framework for the development of international rule of law. In recent years the UN has developed a more effective ability to decide and engage in peace support operations and this development should be supported. At the same time, the ability of the UN and regional organisations to prevent and resolve conflicts, for example in Africa, should be strengthened. The political parties behind the Defence Agreement agree to maintain NATO as the central forum for joint and binding cooperation within security and defence policy. The collective defence remains strongly anchored within NATO, which also in the future will be the framework of the transatlantic partnership, thus countering new threats and guaranteeing European security.
