The event recognized the efforts put in over two years by a group of enthusiasts to develop a trail network and present the first section accessible in any season thanks to a boardwalk funded by the Municipality of the Township of Gore and the MRC d’Argenteuil (Pacte Rural). Elisabeth Van Eyken, member of the Trails Committee, explained that the project had two main objectives: make the forest more accessible to residents of Gore (land being mostly private, there is less access to green spaces) and preserve our forest while learning first-hand. Janick Roy, who hosted the event on behalf of the committee, thanked all the committee members, namely Elisabeth made from natural materials Van Eyken, Mathieu Madison, Monic collected during the hike.
