ZooKeys 437: 1–23. doi: 10.3897/ zookeys.437.7917 Abstract The genusDolichopoda (Orthoptera; Rhaphidopohoridae) is present in Italy with 9 species distributed from northwestern Italy (Piedmont and Liguria) to the southernmost Apennines (Calabria), occurring also in the Tyrrhenian coastal areas and in Sardinia. Three morphologically very close taxa have been de- scribed in Piedmont and Liguria, i.e., D. ligustica ligustica, D. ligustica septentrionalis and D. azami azami. To investigate the delimitation of the northwestern species of Dolichopoda, we performed both mor- phological and molecular analyses. Morphological analysis was carried out by considering diagnostic char- acters generally used to distinguish different taxa, as the shape of epiphallus in males and the subgenital plate in females.

A field 21 survey of Pinus cembra growing above 2800 m asl was conducted, in an ecoregion of 22 southwestern Alps, straddling France and Italy (Queyras-Mt Viso area). Pines were 23 described (height, density) and their habitats were contextualized (altitude, slope degree and 24 exposure, bedrock). Individuals of Pinus cembra are commonly growing between 2800 and 25 3200 m asl, generally on east-facing, steep and rocky slopes, with a pine density decreasing 26 with altitude.
