My intent in this thesis is to support the contention that new media technology has become a vital communication tool for today’s democratic revolutions. I begin my research by studying communications tools and their roles in revolutions throughout history. I then conduct three case studies, examining two nations that played a crucial role in the so-called “Arab Spring” democratic revolutions of 2011, Tunisia where the rebellions began and Egypt, one of the central countries in the Middle East/North Africa.
