LONG BEACH STATE Long Beach State has three games left to play in the regular season, and all three will be played in front of their home crowd at the Ken Lindgren Aquatic Center. But most significantly, two out of the three games will be conference matchups. Nolan McConnell is third in the GCC with 36 goals. Pepperdine goalie 20 (T) St. Francis College 18 (T) 9 Zack Rhodes is currently second in the GCC and ninth in the nation with 161 saves this season. Rhodes RV University of Redlands RV 3 is averaging 8.05 saves per game and has a .567 save percentage. He picked up GCC Player of the Week RV San Jose State University RV 1 honors earlier this year after an 18-save performance against Pacific. RV Air Force Academy NR 1 SAN JOSE STATE On the heels of a 15-7 defeat to #9-Pepperdine, San José State men’s water polo looks to rebound against three of the nation’s top teams.The Spartans (7-15, 0-3) will head down to southern California to take on 2016 GCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK three top ten teams this weekend starting with Golden Coast Conference foe #7-Long Beach State on Friday, November 4. SJSU will have a quick turnaround as they take on undefeated #1-UCLA on Saturday and #2- Sept. 7 Ikko Saito USC on Sunday. Ben Hauschild leads the league in steals with 45. Pacific UC IRVINE Sept. 14 Matej Matijevic UC Irvine UC Irvine junior goalie Matej Matijevic recorded 18 saves in a game for the fifth time this season in a back-and-forth, 10-9 loss to No. 5 UC Santa Barbara last Friday night in a Golden Coast Conference game. Sept. 21 Alen Osmanovic Matijevic turned back a penalty shot in the second quarter and had three more saves on power-play oppor- Pacific tunities. He has 255 saves in 19 starts this season... UC Irvine, 9-10 overall and 1-2 in the GCC, travels to Pepperdine Friday for a conference game at 5:00 p.m. before hosting California in a non-conference contest Sept. 29 Nolan McConnell Long Beach St. Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Sophomore Jack Trush leads the Anteaters with 36 goals, followed by junior Ryan Warde with 32. Warde scored four goals for the third time in the past four games versus UCSB. Freshmen Oct. 5 Zach Rhodes Bryant Joudrie and Ian Fleenor have scored 23 and 22 goals, respectively. Pepperdine UC SANTA BARBARA Oct. 12 Reed Cotterill UC Santa Barbara No. 5 UCSB looks to continue its three-game win streak against No. 4 Pacific this Friday. Although Pacific just barely edged Santa Barbara in the rankings this week, that may change after this weekend. The Gau- Oct. 19 Tim Reeves chos have been on fire lately, going 6-1 in their last seven outings, compared to 4-3 for the Tigers. The next Pacific day, UCSB heads to Fresno for the FPU Mini Tournament to face off against Fresno Pacific and Pomona- Pitzer. In its latest game, Fresno Pacific finally ended an eight-game skid, defeating Chapman 12-8. Currently Oct. 26 Liam Lenihan UC Santa Barbara on an eight-game win streak, Pomona-Pitzer has been playing its best water polo of the season over the last month, going 12-1 in October.
