Los Angeles Folk Rockers YARD of BLONDES Reveal New Album Artwork for ‘Murderology’ EP – Photographed by Yougo Jeberg For Immediate Release January 31, 2013 Los Angeles Folk Rockers YARD OF BLONDES Reveal New Album Artwork for ‘Murderology’ EP – Photographed by Yougo Jeberg New EP Coming March 26, 2013 via High Desert Lo-Fi Records / HK Corp Performing TONIGHT at Down & Out in Los Angeles, CA Los Angeles, CA-based folk rock group YARD OF BLONDES recently announced the upcoming release of their new EP,Murderology, via High Desert Lo-Fi Records and MTV award-winning and Grammy- nominated art agency HK Corp. The EP drops on March 26, 2013. Today, the band is pleased to reveal the new album art for the EP, photographed by French photographer Yougo Jeberg. A new video was leaked last night unveiling the art, which can be viewed at this link. To view more of Yougo Jeberg’s photography, check out his website at www.yougojeberg.com. The theme of Murderology is love and death; the EP is essentially a collection of meticulously crafted songs inspired by “murder ballads” of the 19th century. YARD OF BLONDES recorded the EP with Julian David at Firewater Studios (Korn,Spliknot, Unkle) with the full support of its owner, Billy Graziadei of Biohazard. Murderology track listing: 1. Murderology 2. Monomoria 3. Requiem For A lover 4. Sailors YARD OF BLONDES boasts influences beyond folk music by incorporating stoner rock, pop-rock and indie bits in their music, as well. The band is already well known on the west coast, having performed at more than 100 shows with other great bands such as Hermane Düne or Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age), and they have been growing as a full live band on the stages of L.A. clubs such as The Bootleg Theater, El Cid, The Viper Room, TAIX, Skinny’s Lounge, Hemingway, the Whisky A Go-Go and more. In 2010, Vincent W. Jacob, a French songwriter and author met Fanny Hill, another French musician in Los Angeles. They were both looking for something new on the other side of the world. They started YARD OF BLONDES together and soon took the desert roads to confront themselves to their rock, folk and stoner influences. In addition to Vincent on vocals / guitars and Fanny on vocals / piano / organ, the two are joined by Dean Chamberlain on bass guitar, Will Schlich on guitars, and Ben Lecourt on drums. YARD OF BLONDES are performing in the Los Angeles/Hollywood, CA area three times in the next month. See below for all confirmed dates: Murderology pre tour: 1/31 – Los Angeles, CA @ Down & Out (w/ Saints and Sinners) 2/15 – North Hollywood, CA @ Skinny’s Lounge 2/19 – Hollywood, CA @ Hemmingway For more information on YARD OF BLONDES, please visit these websites: www.facebook.com/YOBmusic www.yardofblondes.com www.twitter.com/yardofblondes For press inquiries and additional information, please contact Adrenaline PR and Maria Ferrero at 732-462- 4262or [email protected]. .

  • Spinnerette Ghetto Love Ep Free Download Spinnerette’S Ghetto Love
spinnerette ghetto love ep free download Spinnerette’s Ghetto Love. Johnny forwarded me an email last week. He wrote, “finally, something decent to cover.” The email came from Spinnerette , and it announced a new EP they were independently releasing, entitled Ghetto Love . We’ve been following Spinnerette on Antiquiet, starting with a retro review of the last Distillers album, through an appearance with Queens Of The Stone Age and Spinnerette’s first shows in October. I share the complaint behind Johnny’s statement- while all the hipsters are finding so much music to love these days, it all sounds like shit to us. We’ve had to resort to pot shots at fucking Fall Out Boy for fuck’s sake. But there’s this little EP, and another one from Cat Power that’s worth checking out. Ghetto Love is only four songs- Ghetto Love, Valium Knights, Distorting A Code, and Bury My Heart , all of which have been heard online and/or live. But the first two tracks are pretty hot. Bury My Heart is alright, while Distorting A Code is our least favorite. Check out the video for Ghetto Love: If you dig that, the complete EP can be heard and/or purchased here from Topspin (why it isn’t on iTunes, we do not know), bundled along with the Ghetto Love video. UPDATE: We forgot to mention- at their last show, Brody promised the full length album would arrive in February ’09. The photo at the top of the page was taken at Spinnerette’s show at Spaceland on October 29th.

Joe Barresi: King Of The Rock Age complimented the producer on working for the band, and “not for anyone When it comes to the production of volume-to-11 rock there’s else” – an apparent reference to record company pressures. And so, with no-one better than Joe Barresi – the latest offering from full creative control and a much larger budget to work with than before, Homme and Barresi set out to experiment more than ever and, said the Queens of the Stone Age, Lullabies to Paralyze, is latter, “create something unique.” testament to that. Paul Tingen finds out “The band rehearsed the songs at Rancho de la Luna studios [in Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California]” explained Barresi. how this complex, ear-invading metal “When they came back to LA, I sat in on a couple of rehearsals and it monster was assembled. was mainly a matter of me learning the music and seeing what worked, sonically, guitar- and tempo-wise, and so on. Then we loaded all the gear into Sound City studios and spent the first day sorting through it, plugging things in and deciding what would sound good for what parts. We had a massive array of amplifiers, guitars and drums, including some of my own stuff…” Vintage King When Barresi spoke about “some of [his] own stuff,” he was, perhaps momentarily, under the spell of the British art of understatement, for he’s the proud owner of a rather extravagant collection of assorted boxes, guitars and amplifiers. As he put it, “I have 250 guitar pedals, probably close to 45 guitars, 75 guitar amps (35 combos and 40 heads), and countless pieces of outboard gear.
