X-Men, Dragon Age, and Religion: Representations of Religion and the Religious in Comic Books, Video Games, and Their Related Media An Honors Thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for Honors in International Studies. By Lyndsey Erin Shelton Under the mentorship of Dr. Darin H. Van Tassell ABSTRACT It is a widely accepted notion that a child can only be called stupid for so long before they believe it, can only be treated in a particular way for so long before that is the only way that they know. Why is that notion never applied to how we treat, address, and present religion and the religious to children and young adults? In recent years, questions have been continuously brought up about how we portray violence, sexuality, gender, race, and many other issues in popular media directed towards young people, particularly video games. -

AIM (ADVANCED IDEA MECHANICS) Villain Team
AIM (ADVANCED IDEA MECHANICS) Villain Team AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics) is a subversive organization dedicated to creating a worldwide technocracy – or rule by scientists. As far as the public at large is concerned, AIM is a legitimate munitions corporation with a sizable research and development department for advanced experimental technology, albeit one that has a shady reputation for questionable ethics. In fact, the United States government agency SHIELD is a known client of theirs (see SHIELD). Secretly, AIM is the number one supplier of advanced technology to the criminal element. A number of costumed villains have purchased technology from them. The most common piece of AIM-tech in use with the super-set is an advanced ballistic fabric which is often sold to government agencies and various costume shops, such as the one owned by Gladiator; it is estimated that the majority of superheroes and supervillains alike who don't wear uniforms made of the unstable molecules developed by Reed Richards have their uniforms made from AIM's ballistic fabric (see Gladiator; Mister Fantastic). Most supers are not aware their uniforms are made from AIM's ballistic fabric. By all reports, AIM was founded in the aftermath of World War II by Dr. Arnim Zola, a German scientist who became disillusioned with what he saw as the limited vision of the future entertained by the Nazi elite and willingly defected to the United States during the final year of the war (see Zola, Dr. Arnim). Zola started AIM with the idea of creating a super-intelligent ruling elite. At first, Zola recruited fellow German scientists, most of whom had originally worked with him with the Nazi Hydra science division (see HYDRA). -
THE AVENGERS a DRAMA SERIES by ROBERT GARLEN BASED on CHARACTERS PUBLISHED by MARVEL COMICS
THE AVENGERS A DRAMA SERIES By ROBERT GARLEN BASED ON CHARACTERS PUBLISHED BY MARVEL COMICS OVERVIEW 2. AVENGERS A One-Hour Drama AVENGERS, is a drama set with real characters with extraordinary gifts, who’ve joined the United States elite super team approved via the United Nations, under certain conditions they only act on American soil, in modern sense it will be told as a spy drama, with character facing real problems, and global threats. In the modern way, AVENGERS will be more than a spy drama, it will be a character driven series about the Avengers as regular every day human beings with pasts they wish to keep secret from each other in order to keep the team together, and in the government and citizens positive side, when ever being faced with tasks bigger than each other their problems occasionally seep into the main stories, causing character conflict and drama among the team which might often questions why they would be together if not being a family. The Universal theme of the show is to bring to light our own deep dark secrets from the each other and learn how to responsible accept each others faults, tying in with the average American Life, and even a person critic on one’s self and the government he/she places their life in every day, and whether they feel that the judgment from that decision is justified or even politically correct. Our Grand theme of the series would be Super Heroes, as Government spies, facing terrorist threatening the life we hold grand, no matter personal politics pushing them against the dangers of various terrorist organizations such as the most Threatening and well hidden HYDRA In this sense AVENGERS ceases to become a common SMALLVILLE series and goes for the greater goal of a serious Super Hero espionage spy drama told in real time and in realistic tone being told with serious real characters in an extraordinary situation. -

MARVEL POP ART PRODUCTIONS the Classic Marvel Comics Group—Set in the Modern Day
MARVEL POP ART PRODUCTIONS The Classic Marvel Comics Group—Set in the Modern Day A Proposal by Carlton J Donaghe This is a proposal for a line of giant, magazine-sized Marvel Comics, published for an all-ages, general market under the banner ‘Marvel Pop Art Productions.’ This line doesn’t replace any imprint currently published by Marvel. Instead, this self- contained set of 12 monthly titles will present a modernized version of the original Marvel Comics Group (with some later characters thrown in) packaged into an easily- accessible product designed for the general distribution market. The depiction of Marvel’s most recognizable characters in their well-known original costumes and settings will both benefit from and promote the continued use of the classic comics in merchandise and licensing. Format Each issue of every title will contain three 20-page comics, each comic with its own interior cover page and two-page spread of introductions and recaps using art from previous issues. In addition, every issue will contain a set of features, called the FOOM (Friends Of Ol’ Marvel) Pages—all in a single format, pulling the entire line together, making every one of the twelve titles an individual part of a single, sprawling epic. The front cover of each title will be a modernized version of the classic Marvel Comics Group format from the mid-1960’s, decorated with captions and blurbs in boxes, circles and arrows, and an action-oriented cover, drawn by a regular rotation of the three interior artists, depicting an exciting scene from their own story in the moment it is happening. -

The Great Big Marvel Character Index (GBMCI) Compiled by Andrew Goldstein [1]
The Great Big Marvel Character Index (GBMCI) Compiled by Andrew Goldstein [1] Version 1.0, last revised 01/20/2018 This index notes each character from the Marvel Universe that was described in one or more MARVEL SUPER HEROES game products. The abbreviations used herein follow. The letter D, followed by a number, indicatesthat the character was mentioned in that issue of DRAGON® Magazine (issues #88 to #198). The letter P, followed by a number, indicates the given issue number of POLYHEDRON Newszine in which a character was mentioned (issues #18 to #61). Some products listed did not mention specific heroes or villains, but are included here to show the complete line of MARVEL SUPER HEROES game products. In cases where character entries occupy multiple pages, the page number given denotes the beginning page of the character entry. Note that this index ONLY includes characters published under the TSR "FASERIP" system; it does not include source material for the SAGA or any other subsequent incarnation of the Marvel RPG, or unpublished "vaporware" works in progress that were never commercially released, etc. This index also does not include various issues of the Marvel-Phile and other publications which do not include character information (for example, the various Ultimate Power Book addenda, Q&A, and the character indexes themselves) although some of those articles do include non- character stats (e.g., Marvel Universe technology, or real-world miltary generic stats). The TSR-produced miniatures sets are likewise not listed, because why the heck would you need to look those up? The index will eventually include fan-made material that follows the same system, as relevant to the Marvel canon. -
