LuckyChap Entertainment is an LA-based production company founded in 2014. The company is dedicated to championing strong female talent and stories, while providing a platform for a new generation of filmmakers to explore their craft. They are driven to produce and develop powerful narratives across film and television. LuckyChap Entertainment’s first production to hit the big screen, “I, Tonya” is a critical and box office success. The independent film premiered at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival to rave reviews and immediately entered the awards race after a very successful sale. It has since garnered multiple nominations including a Golden Globe Best Picture nomination. The dark comedy, written by Steven Rogers, focuses on Tonya Harding’s personal life and relationships, while chronicling the fall of a rising star is directed by Craig Gillespie and features Margot Robbie and Allison Janney. Both actresses have gone on to receive Academy Award nominations for their stellar performances in the film. The film was co-produced with Clubhouse Pictures and distributed by Neon and 30 West domestically. LuckyChap Entertainment recently wrapped production on the independent film “Dreamland” directed by Miles Joris-Peyrafitte and stars Margot Robbie and Travis Fimmel. Written by Nicolaas Zwart and on the 2015 Black List, “Dreamland” is set in the 1930s, amid the devastation of the Dust Bowl. The story follows a 15-year-old boy on his quest to capture a fugitive bank robber and collect the bounty on her head, all with the goal of saving his family farm from foreclosure. LuckyChap are producing the film with Automatik and Romulus Entertainment. Additionally, their first produced film “Terminal,” a neo-noir thriller, directed by Vaughn Stein and starring Margot Robbie, Mike Meyers, Simon Pegg and Max Irons will be released theatrically in May 2018. LuckyChap Entertainment has several other projects currently in development and a first look production deal with Warner Bros. Studios. It’s impressive slate of projects include book adaptations of “Bad Monkeys,” written by Jessica Knoll and co-produced with Universal/Dylan Clark Productions; and the much-anticipated “Fierce Kingdom” and “Augmented” with Warner Brothers/Di Novi Pictures. LuckyChap Entertainment will co-produce the highly sought-after spec “Marian,” which stars Margot Robbie and is being produced in collaboration with Donald De Line and Amy Pascal and “Dangerous Odds” which will also star Margot Robbie and produced with Bold Films and Management 360. LuckyChap Entertainment recently expanded its business with a television division and has already sold its first project under their Warner Bros. Television deal, “Shattered Glass.” LuckyChap Entertainment also recently sold the comedy “Dollface” to Hulu.
