Corruption, money laundering, match-fixing, misplaced government interven- tion, legal disputes of various sorts, and so on, can, indeed, only be dealt with effectively if authority is clearly defined and if the status and independence of football’s governing bodies is recognised by law and they are provided with the necessary means. The Independent European Sport Review initiated by the sports ministers of the EU’s five key member states in cooperation with UEFA and FIFA is an important step in this direction. Its concludes in favour of sport being accorded a special, independent status and supports the European sport model. -

INIZIATIVE ‘Hall of Fame del calcio italiano’: Pirlo, Boniek e Mazzone tra i premiati della 9a edizione Nella ‘Hall of Fame’ anche Percassi, Oriali, Gama e l’ex arbitro Michelotti. Premi alla memoria per Anastasi e Radice, il premio Astori a Lukaku e a un giovane calciatore che ha salvato la vita ad un avversario. Il 4 maggio a Firenze la cerimonia di premiazione Altre 11 stelle entrano nel firmamento della ‘Hall of Fame del calcio italiano’, istituita nel 2011 dalla FIGC e dalla Fondazione Museo del Calcio per celebrare giocatori, allenatori, arbitri e dirigenti capaci di lasciare un segno indelebile nella storia del nostro calcio. Questi i premiati della 9ª edizione, che vanno a comporre una ‘rosa’ di 99 personaggi illustri formata anche da grandi campioni del passato ormai scomparsi: Andrea Pirlo (Giocatore italiano), Zbigniew Boniek (Giocatore straniero), Carlo Mazzone (Allenatore), Antonio Percassi (Dirigente italiano), Alberto Michelotti (Arbitro italiano), Gabriele Oriali (Veterano italiano), Sara Gama (Calciatrice italiana), Pietro Anastasi e Luigi Radice (Premi alla memoria), Romelu Lukaku e Mattia Agnese (Premio Astori). La Hall of Fame dà quindi il benvenuto alla classe cristallina di un Campione del Mondo come Andrea Pirlo, a Zibì Boniek, ieri ‘Bello di notte’ e oggi presidente della Federcalcio polacca e a Carlo Mazzone, uno degli allenatori italiani dotati di maggior carisma. Altri riconoscimenti sono stati assegnati ad Antonio Percassi, capace di portare la sua Atalanta nel gotha del calcio europeo, all’ex arbitro Alberto Michelotti e a Sara Gama, la capitana della Nazionale Femminile che al Mondiale francese ha tenuto incollati davanti alla Tv milioni di italiani. -
