Derbyshire Schools Sports Association Derbyshire Hockey Association Boys and Girls Junior sections 2011‐ 2012 Working with Derbyshire Schools Sports Association U21 ‐ U19 – U17 – U15 – U14 – U13 Age Groups PLEASE NOTE AGE REGULATIONS FOR TRIALISTS IN ALL AGE GROUPS (SEE TRIAL PAGES) DERBYSHIRE YOUTH HOCKEY PROGRAMME 2011-2012 DERBYSHIRE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION BOYS AND GIRLS JUNIOR SECTIONS 2011-12 The new England Hockey Board Single System for player development has been in place for 2 years. Initial results are very encouraging but it is a system that is still developing and we would welcome any feedback from coaches, teachers, parents or players. There will be four Junior Development Centres (JDCs) within the county to which all hockey players are invited. These will be held at Repton/Foremark School, Anthony Gell School, Wirksworth, Buxton Community School and Sinfin Community School. Dates and times are in the booklet, except for Sinfin Community School which are to be confirmed. The Centres will be led by Level 2 coaches and are the first rung on the ladder of the player pathway. The emphasis for the JDCs is skill development and players will have the opportunity to practise their skills in competition with neighbouring JDCs. Players will be assessed and possibly selected for progression to Junior Academy Centres (JACs). These will run after Christmas. The JACs replace the County teams and will compete with JACs from other Counties. Those players not progressing to JACs will be encouraged to continue with school and club hockey and will be provided with information on local activity until the JDCs begin again the following season. It is important that all junior players attend a JDC to progress through the system. There is no direct entry to the JACs unless a player is returning from a higher level. There is also no entry to JRPC without first attending the JAC. Junior players wishing to attend a JDC should choose the one closest and most convenient for them and complete the registration form (attached as a separate document). If the dates for a local JDC aren’t convenient players are free to travel to another centre for their coaching either within Derbyshire or in a neighbouring County/Region. Please note that due to numbers all U16 & U17 Boys and Girls will attend the JDC at Wirksworth. There will also be School competitions at U11, U13, U14, U16 and U18. More information is provided later in the booklet. All schools and clubs wishing to participate in competitions must complete the affiliation form enclosed at the back of this booklet to ensure that the organisers have up to date information and contact details. This study explores various types of secondary education that are categorised under one of two generic terms - Jewish secondary education or secondary education for Jews. The former describes institutions, offered by individual Jews, which provided a blend of religious and/or secular education. The latter focuses on non-Jewish schools which accepted Jews (and some which did not but were, nevertheless, attended by Jews). Whilst this work emphasises London and its environs, other areas of Jewish residence, both major and minor, are also investigated.

The industry’s greatest period came in the late sixteenth century, after technical improvements and an expansion of the trade, and lasted until the late eighteenth century. This is an examination of the working of the industry and of developments during these two centuries. From the sixteenth century onwards there is a large body of written material arising from the way in which the industry was organised. This book is largely based on such documentary evidence preserved in the Derbyshire Record Office and the Derbyshire County Library, in particular the archive accumulated over several centuries by the Gell family of Hopton, now in the DRO, and the microfilm copy of the Wolley manuscripts in the Local Studies Library at Matlock.

  • Briefing on Sixth Form Provision
Rep 680 Agenda item 7 Schools Forum – 10 th November 2016 School Sixth Forms - The 14-19 landscape and the diversification of School / College provision 1. Purpose To inform Schools Forum of the challenges faced by School Sixth Forms following changes in Government policy and funding, including the growth of University Technical Colleges (UTCs), Studio Schools, Free Schools and Technical Academies. 2. Policy background The school system has changed significantly over the last five years, with changes to Government funding of Post-16 education in particular being a considerable challenge. Not all the change is recent; Academies, UTCs and Studio Schools for instance were all around in various stages of development prior to 2010. The current school sector, however, is designed to give parents greater choice and schools greater freedom. Currently there exists: • Over 2,000 Academies now open in England • 291 Free Schools now open and 141 in the pipeline – DfE target 500 by 2020 • 34 Studio Schools now open with one in the pipeline • 45 UTCs open. In addition, since September 2013, GFE has been able to offer full time provision to 14-16yrs olds which adds more competition into the education system. 3. Definitions for these new types of organisations • Academies – Primary and Secondary Schools who are no longer part of the Local Authority are directly funded by the EFA and have additional responsibilities. • University Technical Colleges – Offering provision to students aged 14-19yrs, specialising in technical / vocational studies. Provision is full time, combining practical and academic studies which are delivered in work related context. A UTC has a maximum of 600 students.
