  • The Monster Energy Mxgp of the Usa Makes the Curtain Call
THE MONSTER ENERGY MXGP OF THE USA MAKES THE CURTAIN CALL GLEN HELEN (United States), 16 September 2015 – It has been an epic season so far and this weekend one of the most famous motocross tracks in the world, Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California will host the final round of the FIM Motocross World Championship. The first time the FIM Motocross World Championship tackled the beast that is Glen Helen was back in 1990 where Belgian Eric Geboers was victorious. The motocross grand prix then returned again for the two years that followed, in 1991 and 1992, where French legend Jean-Michel Bayle headlined. Eighteen years after Bayle’s victory in ’92, MXGP returned where both world champions at that time Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli and Marvin Musquin won in their respective classes. What is exciting is that both Cairoli and Musquin will be racing this weekend while the winners of the most recent grand prix at Glen Helen, in 2011, Clement Desalle and Ken Roczen will not be onsite as they are both recovering from injuries. Yamaha Factory Racing Yamalube’s Romain Febvre has never raced in the USA and will be looking forward to put in some laps out here in Southern California. It will be interesting to see how he goes on the unfamiliar territory and with a lot of new names and faces on the gate. Hitachi Construction Machinery Revo KTM’s Shaun Simpson is one name that is recognized in the USA. Simpson, who raced a round of the American Nationals back in August, has been open about how pumped he is to return to the US for a grand prix.

www.rustsports.com Issue #5 Ed itorial lap two By SI MELBER, photo: Si Melber “Rust NeverSleeps” Hi there Nope, the real reason I do this is because I haven’t quite finished the job that I set out to do. Twenty years ago I launched a magazine called TBM that AND SO IT begins… Another year sat on the startline of this endurance race aimed to shake up the off-road industry with the novel approach of telling the I call dirt bike journalism. A miss-spent youth promisingly developed into a honest truth about dirt bikes. You know… warts and all, as opposed to simply miss-spent career - to paraphrase the late father of one of our columnists. regurgitating what the manufacturers wanted us to believe. So what keeps drawing me back year after year? That was a lot of fun. We worked for you guys (the consumers), exposed Certainly not the money. Sure I’m properly rewarded for what I do, but friends some bare-faced lies, took manufacturers to task, built some amazing friend- I grew up with earn twice as much; they live in bigger houses, equipped with ships, built some god-awful project bikes, took part in a lot of races, finished bigger garages packed to the rafters with sports stuff they never get time to a few of them, and generally enjoyed ourselves. So when the chance came use. Hey… I wanna’ have stuff I never get time to use. Oh and they get to ride to create the new RUST brand out of the box of bits marked ‘TBM’, naturally sit-upon lawnmowers at the weekend whereas I don’t even own a windowbox.

  • Weekend 4 Winners!
2015-03-03 09:29 CET WEEKEND 4 WINNERS! FIM Motocross World Championship Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings put on a great performance under the night lights of the Losail track in Qatar at the season opener, as he returns to MX2 category following almost a six month layoff due to a broken femur sustained last season. The Dutchman enjoyed a good battle in race one with Dylan Ferrandis, and got away in the second moto by lap three to cement a 1-1 finish with very little bike time under his belt in the pre-season to take the overall win aboard his KTM 250 SX-F. Teammate Pauls Jonass had a solid start in his first GP with the KTM factory team as he took sixth overall. Herlings: "It was pretty amazing. We have had a tough time both mentally and physically because of the injury. I didn't expect to win here and this was something really special. I'll remember it for a long time. Now I hope to keep up this rhythm and if I can put the bike on the podium again next week I am already happy." In the higher capacity class Tony Cairoli, who is not totally fit at the present time, went 3-4 for fourth position overall, which has formed a strong foundation for his 2015 championship assault aboard his KTM 350 SX-F. Ken de Dycker had a tough outing at the Qatar race, while Tommy Searle unfortunately had to retire from proceedings, as he aggravated an old thumb injury.

Press Release EMX125 and 300 at the start As the 2017 FIM Motocross World Championship takes to the demanding dark sand of Valkenswaard so to will the season opener of the EMX125 class Presented by FMF Ra - cing. With FMF Racing rene - wing is presenting sponsorship of both the EMX125 and EMX300 classes, it clearly shows, once again, its support for the top level of two stroke racing in Europe. Photo @Youthstream FMF, Flying Machine Factory, is a world leader in aftermarket power exhaust systems for dirt bikes and ATV’s, and was set up in 1973 by a youthful twenty-two year old by the name of Donny Emler, a typical Southern California native who like everybody else in the seventies found the urge to ride and race dirt bikes simply irresistible. While FMF’s bread and butter have be taken care of on home turf in America you may have noticed their presence gain traction in MXGP over the past few years, not only as a series partner but also as team sponsors with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing as one of the main beneficiaries. You can sense the 2-stroke thing is something the team at FMF still feels passionately about, which is no surprise considering that two of FMF’s biggest advocates are the biggest 2-stroke fans; the boss himself and a former 250cc world champion, Danny LaPorte. David Luongo, Youthstream Vice-President and Head of Operations stated: “It has always been our target to maintain and to develop the two-stroke series! They are so important for our sport, for the development of the young riders.
