  • Free Mover Clinical Clerkships
FREE MOVER CLINICAL CLERKSHIPS Students interested in spending a clerkship activity abroad without participating in the Erasmus+ programs can enroll as Free-Movers (Fee-paying Visiting Students or Independent Students or Contract Students) at some foreign University hospitals where they can attend clinical rotations. The Free-Mover Clinical Clerkship Period is an optional part of the medical course and as such must be accounted for. Students not willing to participate still have to attend clinical rotations at the University of Milan. The Clerkship abroad represents a mutual contract between Supervisor and Student and is subject to supervision by the Faculty. In this document, there is the list of possible destinations and university hospitals in which the clinical clerkship period can be performed. For some of the destinations, students are advised to clearly declare their student status, as they may be allowed to participate only as observers and not and interns. 1 AFRICA Egypt Ethiopia Benin Botswana IvoryCoast Ghana Cameroon Kenya Libya Morocco Namibia Nigeria Rwanda Zambia Senegal Sudan SouthAfrica Tanzania Tunisia Uganda Zimbabwe ASIA China India Indonesia Japan Cambodia Malaysia Mongolia Nepal Philippines Singapore SriLanka SouthKorea Taiwan Thailand Vietnam 2 THE MIDDLE EAST Bahrain Iran Israel Jordan Qatar Lebanon Oman Palestine SaudiArabia Syria United Arab Emirates OCEANIA Australia Adelaide Canberra Melbourne Newcastle NewSouthWales Perth Queensland Sydney Tasmania New Zealand EUROPE Belgium Bosnia-Herzigowina Bulgaria Denmark

The investigation is rooted in the transformation wrought in Jewish communities worldwide in the nineteenth and twentieth century through emancipation, assimilation, immigration, acculturation, and Zionism. The discussion is divided into three sections, of which the first two constitute a description of the normative experience of Jewish women, the majority of whom were first and second generation immigrants from eastern Europe. Entitled “Setting up house”, the first section opens with their migration, their establishment of immigrant neighbourhoods, and the perpetuation of their close knit communities through bonds ofTown marriage. Entitled “Beyond hearth and home”, the second section explores how the period, 1880- 1939, that witnessed dramatic changes in women‟sCape status worldwide - through education, the workplace and the attainment of theof vote - resonated among South African Jewish women.

Israel Centre ManCom Report July 2014 P2G Cape Argus Cycle Tour Delegation - March 2014 In March 2014 the Israel Centre and Partnership2Gether hosted three Israelis from the Beit Shemesh-Mateh Yehuda region, for them to participate in the Cape Argus Cycle Tour. Not only did they cycle the challenging race, they also had an opportunity to experience Cape Town and Johannesburg and the Jewish Communities there. The three cyclists were chosen not only for their cycling abilities but as representatives of the multi- faceted cultural and religious landscape of the Beit Shemesh-Mateh Yehuda region. Moshe Lichtenstein is Ultra-Orthodox and in his 50s, married with eight children, he made Aliyah from the United States. Shlomit Simantov is a physiotherapist living on Moshav Aviezer and is National Religious, she is in her 30s, married with three children and competes in triathlons. She is pregnant with her fourth child. Amir Alfie is secular, in his mid-twenties, studying industrial design and works as a personal trainer. They could not be more diverse but their shared love of cycling and the region in which they live in Israel create massive commonalities for these Israelis. They were excited to share their life experience of the Beit Shemesh-Mateh Yehuda region with the Cape Town and Johannesburg Jewish Communities, showing the rich existence in the region and the everyday co-existence of varied groups. Their mutual love of Israel, their fellow Jews and newfound passion for South Africa more than bridged any superficial differences they may have. While in Cape Town the delegation not only participated in the Cycle Tour but enjoyed kind Cape Town hospitality and appreciated the numerous and varied warm Shabbat experiences available in the city.
