HISTORY Fattoria di Lornano, since 1904 owned by the Taddei family is located on south west hills of Castellina in Chianti, Monteriggioni, to degrade. The central housing and the company have built up around the old church of Lornano of which we have news from the ninth century. This church, a privilege of Pope Innocent III, was entrusted with the administration of other neighboring churches, and agricultural land which they had formed part. No one knows exactly when the transition took place in private hands, it is believed that the land has been purchased to the first half of the sixteenth century, during yet another war between Florence and Siena. The company and the adjoining house, after several restructurings, bought the current structure in the second half of the eighteenth century. Fattoria di Lornano is a member of the "Consorzio del Marchio Storico Chianti Classico Gallo Nero" since its foundation.
