COUNTY COUNCIL (WOOTTON - ABINGDON) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2014

Oxfordshire County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to that Act, hereby make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Oxfordshire County Council (Wootton - (Abingdon) (Speed Limits) Order 2014 and shall come into force on the tenth day of September 2014.

2. No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed in excess of 30 miles per hour in any of the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this Order.

3. No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed in excess of 40 miles per hour in any of the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 2 to this Order.

4. No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to a vehicle falling within Regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011, being a vehicle used for naval, military or air force purposes, when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those regulations.

5. The Oxfordshire County Council (Wootton [Abingdon] Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2000 is hereby revoked/replaced.

SCHEDULE 1 30 miles per hour a) B4017 Rd / from a point 19 metres south of its junction with Lamborough Hill / White Road, St Helen Without, north- Cross westwards to its junction with White Hill Lane, Cumnor. (Thereafter the speed limit is covered by the Oxfordshire County Council (Cumnor Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2011). b) Amey Crescent its entire length c) Arthur Evans Close its entire length d) Berkeley Road from its junction with Jarn Way and Bedwells Heath south-eastwards for a distance of 70 metres. e) Berrymere Road its entire length (partly in the parish of St Helen Without). f) Road from its junction with the B4017 Cumnor Road north- westwards to the parish boundary at a point 44 metres east of its junction with Sandleigh Road. g) Coupland Road its entire length (partly in the parish of St Helen Without). h) Hawkins Way its entire length

i) Hill View Lane its entire length

j) Home Close its entire length

k) Huxley Close its entire length

l) Jarn Way its entire length

m) Mathews Way its entire length

n) Mitchell Close its entire length

o) Orchard Lane its entire length

p) St Peter’s Close its entire length

q) Sunningwell Road from its junction with the B4017 White Cross north- eastwards to the parish boundary, a distance of 75 metres.

r) The Old Pound its entire length

s) Watson Crescent its entire length

t) Old road from its junction with Jarn Way, Old Boars Hill south- westwards for its entire length, i.e. its junction with Sandy Lane, Wootton

u) Unnamed Wootton Village from its junction with the B4017 Cumnor road north- road eastwards to its junction with Sandy Lane.

SCHEDULE 2 40 miles per hour

a) Fox Lane (Southern end) from its junction with the B4017 Lamborough Hill north-eastwards for a distance of 661 metres.

b) Fox Lane (Northern end) from a point 1162 metres north-east of its junction with the B4017 Lamborough Hill north-eastwards to the parish boundary, a distance of 413 metres.

c) Honeybottom Lane from its junction with the B4017 Lamborough Hill south-westwards for a distance of 448 metres, partly in the Parish of St. Helen Without.
