Introduction –Central Europe has so much to offer and it’s no wonder our customers return here year after year to what can only be described as some of the best motorcycling and scenery in Europe. To this day Central Europe remains one of our most popular destinations. We first visited the Dolomites and Slovenia in July 2007 and were simply blown away by its sheer magnificence, endless beauty and quaint villages nestled high in the mountains. Having led a number of tours here over the years we can’t wait to go back to a region that boasts over 300 days of sunshine annually.
With ‘less is more’ being the basis for this particular tour we indulge in the very best the regions have to offer in terms of scenery, cuisine and local hospitality. The tour incorporates some very well-known mountain passes along with some lesser known hidden gems.

Not included: • Flights to/from Germany, fuel, tolls, entry fees, food during the day, anything not listed above.
As we are using the same hotels as our bases for a number of nights at various points throughout the tour there are many advantages including: • All luggage can be left at the hotel during the day leaving your motorcycle lighter and more fun to ride • Ideal locations for ‘off the bike’ activities incl. spas, hiking, cycling, outdoor pools, rafting, canyoning etc.
Day 1 – Memmingen to The Dolomites
Leaving Memmingen behind we travel south and enter Austria via the Fernpass, a 1,212 metre high mountain pass in the Tyrolean Alps in Austria. It is located between the Lechtal Alps on the west and the Mieming Mountains on the east. The landscape is marked by a series of lakes, the largest of which is the Blindsee. After crossing the Fernpass we continue south across the Timmelsjoch pass into Italy. The High Alpine Road is open daily from 7 am until 8 pm. Its 2,509 metres high and due to the exposed high-elevation terrain, driving over the mountain pass is only possible between approximately the beginning of June and the end of October. It creates a link through the Ötztal Alps along the border between Austria and Italy. Our destination tonight is a fabulous Spa nestled deep in the Dolomites.
Day 2 – 3 The Dolomites
It’s time to dump the luggage at our base for the two days allowing us ample opportunity to explore the region in detail with different routes on offer each day and some expert advice from our local guide. Our Hotel is strategically located in the heart of the Dolomites and is surrounded by breath taking views and some of the very best motorcycling on offer in the region.

Heading east we leave the Dolomites behind in search of Slovenia’s Triglav National Park. The Triglav is the only national park in Slovenia and lies in the immediate vicinity of Bled. It comprises one of the most beautiful and attractive areas of Slovenia, almost the entire Slovenian part of the Julian Alps. The territory of the National Park is very picturesque and varied. The highest mountain in Slovenia, Triglav (2864 m), after which the park was named, lies in its centre. From Triglav, deep and sharply cut valleys, mainly of glacial origin, open on all sides in the form of a fan. Observe the unique colours, and vegetation, playing animals, dynamic reliefs and the rushing rivers. Our destination for tonight is located on the shores of Lake Bohinj – arguably more authentic, tranquil and picturesque than it’s neighbour Lake Bled.
Day 6 – Slovenia Rest day.
Today we have an opportunity to explore the local attractions such as Mount Vogel (chair lift) and the Savica Waterfall.A panoramic cable car ride takes us up to Mount Vogel at 1,535m where we can enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and Lake Bohinj.Savica Waterfall is the third most visited attraction in Slovenia. It is very unique among world waterfalls – its watercourse is divided into two parts in the hidden undergrounds. The famous A-shaped waterfall normally comes into sight at an altitude of 836 m and is 78 m high.It is fed by the waters from the Valley of the Triglav Lakes and Pršivec that flow to it through a horizontal cave tunnel.
Day 7 – Slovenia to Rauris
Leaving Slovenia behind we head back west into Austria and north across the infamous Grossglockner pass in the Hohe Tauern National Park. At 3,798m the Grossglockner is not only the highest mountain in Austria, it also counts among the highest peaks in the Alps. The most famous alpine road leads you into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Pasterze Glacier. You will have a driving and nature experience of a special kind on 48 kilometres of high alpine road with 36 bends, and an altitude ascent to 2,504 metres! You pass through a unique world of mountains with blossoming alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, massive cliffs and eternal ice to the foot of the Grossglockner. Day 9 – Rauris to Landeck
Heading further west via Zell am See our destination tonight is the 4 Star Hotel Enzian in Landeck. Should we arrive early enough in the afternoon there are plenty of local passes suitable for an evening ride. Alternatively there are a number of longer routes on offer in order to reach Landeck
Day 10 – Landeck to Memmingen
As it’s the last day of the tour what better way to finish than with a route across the Hahntennjoch Pass, along by Pansee Lake and finally the short hop to Memmingen.
