Snow cover conditions and avalanche danger: Last Saturday, a weak disturbance brought uneven snowfall in the mountain territory. Only in the western Carnic Prealps and in the Julian Alps about 10-20 cm fell, insignificant quantities elsewhere. In these areas the avalanche danger is 2 (moderate) due to the presence of some deposits of possible human triggered new snow even with low additional load, under the ridges and along the steepest slopes, exposed to the North. On the Carnic Alps, Eastern Carnic Prealps, Canin and on the Julian Prealps, the danger is 1 (low) and small human triggered slabs can occur with high additional load only and at northern exposures. Everywhere, natural avalanche activity is minimal and limited to a few loose snow avalanches from the steepest sunny slopes. Pay attention to icy areas where it is possible to run into ruinous falls.

Snow cover conditions and avalanche danger: On Thursday, the freezing level will be still at 2700 m. Avalanche danger will be 1 (low) everywhere and the snowpack will bw mainly stable and well bonded. Only under the ridges areas exposed to the North it will be possible to cause small human triggered avalanches in deposit areas with high additional load. Furthermore, only small loose snow avalanches will be possible from the steepest sunny slopes during the hottest hours. Watch out for areas with ice where you can slip.
