The Cathedral Roll is in the process of being renewed. Being a member of the Cathedral Roll is one of the ways in which regular worshippers at the Cathedral can be identified as being committed to the Cathedral and gives the opportunity to be involved in electing and being a candidate for the Cathedral Community Committee or Deanery Synod. It is also very important as one of the ways in which the Cathedral can keep in touch with you if you give your permission. Please note that if you are on the Roll already you will need to reapply for inclusion in the new Roll. New members are very welcome. Application forms are available in the Cathedral and Cathedral Office. Closing date for applications: Tuesday 12th March 2019. Could you join the Cathedral’s Community Committee? Nominations are now sought for election to the Cathedral Community Committee – Closing Date Thursday 28th March. The role of the Cathedral’s Community Committee is to consult and advise on any matter that affects the Cathedral Community, e.g. the new Cathedral Website, the opening up of Paradise, the Cathedral’s finances, and the Lent Course 2019. Nomination forms are available from a steward or verger, or from the Cathedral Reception. (Richard Ashby, Chair. 01243 372234) Saturday 2nd March: The Eucharist will start fifteen minutes later than usual at 12.15pm in order to accommodate those attending ACE Study Day in the Bishop’s Palace. A Memorial Service for Alan Russell will be held in the Cathedral at 3pm on Wednesday 6th March. All are welcome to attend. The ‘Pray with the World Church’ booklets from USPG for the period 17th Feb to 15th June 2019 have now arrived and copies are available to take from the back of the Cathedral; please help yourself. USPG has decided to suspend the production of the publication Transmission. I will keep you informed of developments. (Christopher Podger, Chichester Mission Support Group Representative.) Chichester Mission Support Group: For many years Christopher Podger has been the Cathedral representative on this group but he now feels the time has come to relinquish this post and we would like to thank him very much for all the time and prayer he has brought to it. We are looking for a new representative from the Cathedral congregation who is willing to join the group who meet to pray for the mission of the church four times a year. In addition he/she organises the annual Vigil of Prayer in the Cathedral every St Andrew’s-tide and arranges for material from the two major Anglican missionary organisations USPG and CMS to be available in the Cathedral. If you think this may be for you and you have a heart for mission then please make contact with the Precentor. The day is geared particularly towards boys in years 2 and 3. We welcome all who are interested – experience of music and singing is not a requirement.
