P.Press June 23, 1967---Graveside services were conducted-Thurs. for C. Shipp, well-known fisher- man and a_resident of Juneau, Baranof & Peters- burg for many years. Shipp was found dead of a gunshot wound on his g111net boat Tues. morning. He had been shot in the head with a 22 caliber rifle. The gun was found on the deck beside him. Magls. Hugh A. Tallant said there were no knoM su~vlvors. The body was found b, Newton Cooday, a friend, when he came to the boate-- to go to Snettisham with Shipp. It is believed~that Shipp had at one time been in business in Fairbanks and Juneau, and had own- ed a home in Baranof that burned to the ground a few years ago.
